Cash grabbing property management platform. Can't pay rent without a $2.50 fee. Ridiculous.

I was double charged for my July rent by Appfolio and there is no way to contact them to dispute or reverse the duplicate transaction. This is over $1000 dollars that needs to be credited back.

Horrible customer service. No communication. Can't find anyone to resolve any of the issues?

Terrible customer service. I cancelled my service and they won’t “let me” cancel. They keep billing me . According to California law, an online software is supposed to have an easy way to cancel and easy way to read the contract. They purposely hide this feature. There is no place on my profile to cancel my service or read my contract. They have no customer service number. Do not sign up!

My landlord uses Appfolio for me to pay my rent, and I accidentally put the wrong date down to pay my rent for next month. I put today's date instead of the 30th. Appfolio doesn't allow the renter to modify or cancel a rent payment, which is ridiculous for the renter. Mistakes happen, and Appfolio doesn't provide the renter the ability to correct a mistake, so I'm trapped into having to call my bank to stop this payment and I will have to pay a service fee to stop this payment from going through because they don't give renters the ability to fix typing mistakes in the 21st Century. I don't have the funds in this bank to cover this payment until the 30th of this month. I want them to give renters the ability to modify or cancel rent payments that are incorrect and not incur fees because of a typing mistake

Horrible communication. Took 5 days to process. Repeatedly asked for income verification from spouse that was a "stay at home mom" then stated application was incomplete!

appfolio portal takes your rent and charges $10.00 for a service fee. This is a “manager” to your apartment building. Appfolio portal claims that it takes your rent and pays the landlord the money you send them. But a $10.00 fee is added on to this. I would like to know if this is legal. Does the manager of a building have the right to charge the tenants a fee to pay the landlord the mortage? We the tenants are also having our parking spots taken away from us. The managing company claims the owner is going to build tiny homes where we park our cars! Is this legal? When I rented my apartment here at *** * ********* ***** *** Los Angeles, CA, 90004, I did so because it came with a parking spot. We here at 204 N Manhattan place have been harassed and I am more scared now not knowing what is next!

I have paid rental fee for years via ACH using my checking account, with no associated fees. Out of the blue I have just been billed $2.49 for this "service." No prior notification, and NO authorization provided for them to access or debit my checking account. Seems to me there is a word that describes taking someone's money without approval - i.e., "theft."

AppFolio is charging $2.49 for an ACH transaction, that is beyond unreasonable. The transaction costs AppFolio pennies, if that. Also, to Drew L's point below, if AppFolio is stating they can't reverse a duplicate transaction, they are lying. Coming from a financial service background, it looks like a a scam. AppFolio CEO Shane Trigg won't be able to hide forever, he needs to step forward, take a phone call and explain why he is charging tenants to pay their rent. ps: how did AppFolio get a A+ BBB rating? Seems odd with the list of complaints about AppFolio gouging tenants.

They double charged, said they would reverse the duplicate charge. Then said they don’t have the ability to reverse a payment? They add on processing fees, this is a bad business practice.
