I was charged ***** this morning and have spent 30 minutes trying to get a human being on the phone but the ** automated line keeps me going in circles. I have a free account so why when I liged into that account after about a year now I get charged. By this business own automotive line they dont have my card information? Well my bank account tells me different. How difficult it is to speak to a human and the run arounds when it comes to peoples money is SHADY business and I believe this company is unprofessional with integrity but dedicated to SHADY unethical business practices. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. The BBB and American federal Government needs to BANNED THIS BUSINESS. If you can not keep your own files correct and you rip people off why would I trust you will such vital information.Experian Consumer Services

Horrendous experiences with Experian. It is phenomenally frustrating to be forced to work with them because they are a credit bureau when they make it virtually impossible to get through to a human being on their automated phone system. Someone hacked into my online Experian account and changed my password and changed the phone number and email to ones that are not mine. Obviously I cannot fix this online, since I cannot access my account. I've wasted HOURS trying to fix this by calling them. I've been bounced around to different departments, given an escalation ticket number that I was later told didn't exist, and every time I called I had to fight like h*** with their automated phone system. I was booted out of it multiple times and never really figured out exactly what combination of things to say to actually get through to a human. Multiple times I finally got through to a human, was told I was being transferred to someone who could help, and was kicked back out into the automated phone system and had to fight to talk to someone again. My issue is still unresolved after a month, and Experian has never bothered to reach out to me with updates. Disgustingly bad customer **********************.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for bringing up your concerns regarding Experian(R). We appreciate your feedback and have noted your concerns. There is no Experian membership for you showing on our **************************** website. We recently updated our processes for administering security freezes. To add or remove a security freeze online, a consumer must visit ***************************************************************. Existing Experian members will be prompted to sign into their membership. Non-members will be prompted to create a free membership in Experian CreditWorksSM Basic or an Experian Service Account. ************************************************** Basic is a free product that provides consumers access to their Experian credit report and FICO(R) Score daily, along with monitoring alerts that are updated daily. In contrast, an Experian Service Account does not involve enrollment in a membership. It is an online portal through which consumers may log in to manage a security freeze, submit disputes, and review dispute results. If consumers cannot or choose not to access our online services, they can contact us by phone *************) or by mail (ECA, ****************************).Micaela W

Experian, my dude. Brah. Friend. Pal. I have only ever had a free membership. I went to the same online portal login page I always go to. My password did not work. Trying to reset it did not work. I called and when I finally got through to a human (incredibly difficult, time consuming, and frustrating literally every single time), I was told that there was a phone number and email on my Basic membership free account that were not mine. See the rest of my comment for the rest of the issues I had in trying to fix this. I finally got through to someone who told me there was an internal error in the Experian system that was not allowing me to login, reset my password, or create a new account (all of these things I attempted to do while I was on the phone with the one person I talked to who was actually helpful). He said he'd create a ticket to fully delete my account so I could register anew. So if there's no membership showing for me now, that's great. However that doesn't fix the fact that your automated phone system is terrible and I've had to waste hours on this issue. Look at all the other one star reviews on here. If I never have to call or deal with Experian again, it will be too soon. Thanks for noting my concerns though.Review fromFRANK C

Experian's website is very poorly designed and maintained. Everytime I try to sign on, it wants a code but the site NEVER actually sends it to my phone. This issue was happening last fall and they STILL have not corrected the problem. Unlike Transunion or equifax where you can easily access your account, with **********************, you have to call them.Ridiculous, incompetent and unprofessional.Experian Consumer Services

As usual, none of the solutions you offer work. Experian website says it is sending a verification code and doesn't. Nothing can be accomplished by calling Experian either.I experienced the same last year when I froze my **********'s obvious that Experian is doing this on purpose.I was able to unfreeze my account in 2 or three minutes with Transunion. The only way to get your account frozen or unfrozen with Experian involves mailing a *********'s as if you people are still operating like it's the year 1975.Review fromSabine M

Horrible experience. Membership deparent kept pawning me off to other deparents; just to be transferred back to membership's incompetent AI -bot. It also kept providing me w/ the website to login. It couldn't comprehend the fact: I was trying to CREATE A PROFILE, therefore I was not a member. Waste a whole hour just for the system to hang up on me.#DISGUSTEDExperian Consumer Services

I would like to know why Experian is actively lying to the public by means of their website. I have been trying to deal with some very serious account issues over the past month. According to their website, as of today May 1, 2025, Experians customer ********************** hours on weekdays are stated to be 8 AM-8 PM CST. At 7:20 PM central standard time today, I attempted to call customer ********************** at this company and the automated system told me that unfortunately you have reached at a time where our live agent service is closed please call back during normal business hours. This is unacceptable and I can only imagine how many man-hours this company has wasted due to their negligence, sloth, frivolity, and disrespect to the public. They need to verify whether the website reflects reality and either correct it immediately or correct their business practices to reflect it. Otherwise, I am sure they are asking for fraud lawsuits from people far less patient than am I, who would like to look into what Experian seeks to gain from lying to the public on such a small matter and from conspiring to violate customers civil and other rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act of 1970.Experian Consumer Services

After applying for a refinance with my mortgage lender, I started to receive hundreds (not exaggerating) of soliciting phone calls from multiple entities that had my name, phone number, and knew about my recent inquiry to refinance. These unwanted calls came in nearly every minute. I reached out to my lender to see why I was getting all these calls and he told me about something called trigger leads. The credit bureau (Experian) sold my person information to multiple entities without my consent. Even one of the lenders that called me confirmed this. This is unethical and should be illegal!!!!! Ive never been harassed from phone calls like this- Its enough for me to come here and leave a review to raise awareness to this level of corruption. Selling my personal information without my consent is criminal. Experian is a scam and they are getting away with it.Experian Consumer Services

if i could give zero stars, i would. As a regular citizen, it is impossible to get an actual person on the phone without some type of "hack" that you have to search for online. And even then, the person you do get on the phone re-directs you BACK to the automated phone line. There's an error with my account preventing companies from accessing my account, and I don't have a way to get in touch with a real person to fix this issue. I know the company does this intentionally, and it is an evil practice. They want you to give up, so they hire less customer ********************** representatives, so they keep more money without actually providing an actual service.Experian Consumer Services

I've been trying to speak to someone at Experian actively for over a week. I cannot get past the automated system. This is by far one of the most horrible customer experiences I have ever had! I'm trying to reset my PIN number. Each time I call the automated system, it only provides options and then ends the call. Experian's customer ********************** needs to be investigated!Experian Consumer Services
