I booked a moving truck with UHaul and on their website they have the ability to line up movers to help load and unload the truck at the different locations. Loading went fine. En route, I called the other help to let them know when we would arrive, and they said "fine, we will alert our team." Once we arrived at the destination to unload, the help never showed. I called MovingHelp.com and they cancelled the job and lined up some new moving helpers, who arrived about an hour later and were great (my nephew and I had unloaded the truck into the driveway by myself in the meantime). So now I want to review the NO SHOW help so that others will know not to use them. MovingHelp says that there is no way for me to provide a review since the job was cancelled (because they were a no show). Really. Not kidding. So all of the customers who want to leave reviews like this to warn others are unable to do so. Yep that's their business model. Run away.MovingHelp.com

I cannot believe how terrible of an experience this has been. I got passed back and forth between Moving Help and Uhaul and neither company will take responsibility for the fact that they messed up my reservation which is now costing me over a THOUSAND extra dollars to rebook. The agent I chatted with didn't even apologize and tried to make me feel like I hadn't read the details when it was her who hadn't paid enough attention to what was happening with my case! Avoid using these companies for moving at all costs.MovingHelp.com

Out of *********, I hired Tactical Movers (scammers), who never showed up for the job. I was able to get a hold of them the day of, and they said that, while they were not able to do the job due to "legal troubles", they had a "sister company" that was available, but they would cost more (and in fact they also charged me a premium). Fine, I said, and I had them come out. They were OK, one guy was very lazy and the other young and inexperienced, but willing, and he did most of the hard work.Tactical Helpers got me to give them the payment code under the pretense of wanting to use it to process my refund. Well, apparently, once they have the code, movinghelp.com assumes the job is paid for, and so here is the scam: hire the company, wait until the customer freaks out and has no choice but to hire their "sister company", get them to pay a premium for the second company and, as a bonus, if you can, get the payment code and get paid 3 times. Now, here is where things got interesting. I first contacted movinghelp.com to find out whether they were tracking my refund. Their first response was quite clear: they are not responsible for the movers and they're merely a website that functions as a marketplace.Well, here's the problem: when you're a marketplace that facilitates scammers, you're an accessory. They were barely interested in getting to the bottom of the issue. In fact, those movers are still on the website at the end of the day. Apparently, the burden is on me to make sure they take down scammers from their website. Cool, uh?We're in 2023 folks, and companies like movinghelp.com should be better at guaranteeing the safety of their customers. It would not be hard to implement a better process; it would not be hard to be less defensive and make sure your customers understand what is happening, instead of using jargon to further muddle the convo; it would not be hard to just be a better company? How do I know? Well, because they are so bad, the only way is up.MovingHelp.com

MovingHelp.com is an online marketplace for customers to hire people who provide moving labor services. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for exchanges between customers and Moving Help Service Providers. During the reservation process it is outlined that you are not to provide the payment code until you are satisfied and the Provider has completed the job. It is always our hope that by providing this marketplace, both parties will walk away satisfied with the outcome; however, we understand sometimes issues arise. You have a few ways to handle and resolve issues with your Moving Help Service Provider: leaving a review, utilizing the ************************** or direct communication with the provider. Response to movinghelp.com's reply on 03/10/23 Here we go again... Movinghelp.com may be an online marketplace for customers to hire people who provide moving labor services but its also a platform that hosts fraudsters (see my review, and apparently, several of the others here). So, this is what I am going to do: I am going to write your reply for you! You're welcome. Here is what your statement should say:We appreciate your feedback and we apologize for your experience. We are always looking for ways to improve our service, however, so we take our customers' feedback seriously. We will look into the information you supplied and use it to review our processes. Our goal is to make sure our services live up to our slogan: a reliable, safe, and bla bla bla whatever marketplace.Given our systematic failures, evidenced by our abysmal BBB rating, I can promise you that I will personally initiate the following:1) Launch a full review of our transaction security processes to establish better protections for our ************ We will conduct a full review of how we perform our customer interactions to improve those wherever possible. Our priority is our customers satisfaction (even though you can't tell due to our current operation model)3) We will do a better job of figuring out who to allow to provide services on our marketplace. Because I am a forward thinking bot, one idea I will recommend to the company is a vetting system for the movers that are interested in joining our site, and a way for our customers to distinguish between verified and non-verified movers. Perhaps, we will also provide a way for our customers to distinguish between insured and non-insured movers as well.In the meantime, we would like to assist you in resolving the issue by providing you the following resources: dispute resolution link; reviews; etc.Thank you so much for being a valued customer and we look forward to unducking ourselves. What your statement says is the following:We do not care what people say because our business model does not rely on repeat business and our success percentage is sufficient to stay afloat, because we have not been sued out of existence yet. If our platform fails our customers, its because our customers failed themselves by using our service.Review fromMike M.

MovingHelp provided a local contractor ************ ****************** out of *****, ****** to help with a loading a truck. Two employees showed up, one who was stoned, and while moving items, dropped a small safe down a flight of stairs and destroyed a tall window adjacent to a door at the foot of the stairs. The window replacement cost was $1090. The contractor will not return calls and MovingHelp hides behind their ******** fine print in contracts avoiding any liability, basically saying they are not responsible for the actions of their contractors. Use extreme caution in utilizing their services.MovingHelp.com

The email associated with the account is **************************** Here's the deal UHaul.....I'm representing my brother in law who lives out of state. He hired your contractor to perform work on Feb 23 to help move our elderly mother in law who has lived in her home for 45 years. I know how the drill goes, because I have dealt with 4 of your team members and the response is the same canned response: Gosh, ********** sorry. But you know, Moving Help is just a neutral venue. And if you need any help, we suggest contacting the contractor to resolve OR since we are just offering a market place, be sure and place a review because those are so very important, OR fill out our dispute resolution form. My complaints with UHaul, hence I think its important the BBB is aware are: #1, NO WHERE on your website page with all the glitz and glammer saying MovingHelp "Powered by UHaul", does it say, uh gee, we don't vet a single contractor and don't require any of them be bonded or insured. "Powered by UHaul" conveys the protection of UHaul Corporation. #2 NO WHERE on your website page does it say if you suffer a loss you're on you own because other than saying "********** sorry", we aren't liable for anything. #3, unique to this case, the contractor mentioned above, operating under the assumed business name of Happy 2 Help ******************, does not have their business name registered with the Secretary of ************** as required by law. You'd think that bringing this to the attention of your "team" that UHaul would want to remove such a business from their "market place". But no. I'm told they can't do that, because it is simply a market place. So, the way it stands, the contractor has 14 days to respond to our request to be paid for the $1090 damage caused by an employee who was stoned. ( Oh, I forgot to mention, the stoned employee when using my mother in law's toilet, urinated on her floor. Disgusting). We all know the contractor won't respond and we will be forced to take her to small claims court, which when that day eventually comes, our claim will be awarded but she still won't pay. So in the meantime, I'm bringing this to the attention to ****** ******************************************************** I'm not bringing our loss to their attention, what I will be bringing to their attention is deceptive advertising on the webpage of MovingHelp.com. I will also file a complaint based upon the fact that Happy 2 Help Movers is not registered under the assumed business name requirements of ****** state law, and after that is brought to the attention of *****, I'm told they will not remove the contractor from their list of movers "Powered by *****.Review fromSheila L

The movers themselves were great. They were efficient and careful. The experience with MovingHelp.com was abominable. I will never use this company again. I booked the service through U-Haul and gave them my debit card. Neither they nor MovingHelp sent me an e-mail or put the job information on my account until I had contacted them at least 5 times. The mover waited at my home for over an hour after completing the task while I tried to get him a pay code. You cannot talk to anyone - all communication is either e-mail or chat. I now have the charge on my card 3 times. I have no idea how this company stays in business.MovingHelp.com

Did I want to pay them? Definitely not do. I think they performed $500 worth of work also definitely not this whole process was an absolute joke and a nightmare . It took me nine hours on the phone to be sure that my stuff was loaded and locked. I dont know how U-Haul handles movers who are third-party but after speaking with moving help in the 800 number the guy I spoke to was very nice and he was very sympathetic, but basically said there are no options you guys dont employ them you dont have any control over them and you couldnt find anybody else to show up. Im not sure how this process should cost $800 or why I should be refunded for the moving help that really didnt happen.Your resources drove a pod and stood and watched by my guy loaded it. Im looking for a refund for the labor. And some compensation for my time and headache and this entire process. U-Haul definitely dropped the ball all the way around to help was awful. But I will say ****** was an amazing representative. She followed through she followed up. She called the movers. She called the location she confirmed the pod. She definitely went above and beyond and shes pretty much the only one that U-Haul who cared or did anything.TO recap - the movers came from the North. They paid for it on their own, no blankets, no equipment and wanted to load my stuff into this trailer and the guys personal vehicle. Then drive my stuff 100 miles south to the ********* POD location, and load the pod. No inventory, no lock, no way to ensure nothing was stolen. When I refused this, they returned the trailer - drove to get the ***** brought it back, loaded it and returned the **** They were 2 hours late to begin and this wasnt completed until 630 pm on Friday. This is totally unacceptable for paying $500+ for labor, when they didnt do one thing, my property manager did the loading. These resources and this process was an absolute s*** show, moving help and Uhaul should be embarrassed.MovingHelp.com

They were very efficient and professional but they scuffed up three sofas/recliners in multiple places. I even had the sofas wrapped in plastic and they removed the plastic to get them out of the house. I contacted them to resolve the issue and they wanted pictures before they moved it, while on the **Haul, and after we had unloaded it. Once I provided the pictures (except for the ones on the **Haul since I didn't take pictures then), they ceased all communication and never attempted to remedy the problem. I was very disappointed with the quality of service.MovingHelp.com

This is Fraud and the worst moving company you could ever hire! First I hired 2 mover to help unload. First thing right off the bat was only one showed up...second thing is he was late and he told me "I don't have the gas for this" when trying to find my apartment so then he starts walking around on foot. Then once he finally makes it it is very very obvious this kid has never moved a day in his life he doesn't know how to operate a dolly or anything. Its also pouring rain, and he over here taking one box at a time....Kid did 30 minutes worth of work to then lay on the ground as if he were tired! He broke my entertainment center and damaged the walls to my new apartment. After everything was in I asked him I need management name and number or something. HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF THE COMPANY HE WORKED FOR LET ALONE ANYONE *******! I REPEAT DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS!!!!MovingHelp.com
