BTOD deleted my honest review of their product. There are fundamental flaws in the design and features that might present a danger to the users/other members of the household, which they clearly suppress because literally zero mentions of glaring mechanical differences compared to other products on the market.btod.com

We dont delete honest reviews. Your review was not honest because you omitted crucial information. The table was altered, settings changed, and moved fully assembled, which you yourself mentioned made it worse. These issues werent caused by a defect, and if there were one, it would have been covered under our warranty.Andrew T

You are deflecting, and your response serves to conflate what are separate and unrelated concerns. The danger your product presents to users has nothing to do with the mechanical problems, and nothing to do with my "alteration". Here's the crucial detail: the Vertdesk V3 has a sensor that is supposed to let the desk know it's collided with something, so that it stops moving and does not cause any damage to itself or anything around it. This sensor regularly triggers stops in error on the way up ONLY, and NOT on the way down. Moreover, even on more sensitive settings, it does not actually stop the desk when it collides on the way down. WHEN MY DESK WAS BRAND NEW, this safety feature did not actually stop the desk on the way down, ever, only stopping it on the way up. This is what my deleted review centered on.Back in 2021, While the desk was "up", I had mistakenly plugged a "kill-a-watt" power meter into power strip in a location that resulted in it being crushed between my tabletop and the metal cross-bar. The sensor was set to "4" on a scale of "1" to "8", and the desk completely obliterated a very sturdy plastic case. I reached out to support; their response to my informing them of the damage and was to send me instructions for adjusting the sensitivity (i.e. reducing sensitivity even further to prevent the errors).In 2022/2023, I moved, the pencil-thin axle (connecting the linear actuators in both legs to the motor) must have been bent (while the desk was completely assembled and the axle protected in its "tunnel"). That resulted in the axle regularly slapping the sides of its tunnel while the desk is moving up or down. Now, the legs themselves were never actually out of alignment (remember they were not disassembled). BTOD's comment above is referring to our exchange on this issue, which my "alteration" (additional part which I fabricated to support the axle with a bearing) to prevent the flimsy axle from slapping and add robustness that the original engineers did not (trade $1-2 saved in BOM cost for you dealing with razor-thin tolerances for aligning something screwed into wood).In 2024, I reached out again when my desk simply would refuse to go up more than an inch at a time. I contacted support, including mentioning that on an even more sensitive setting the table was already a hazard to anything in its path. They acknowledged the damage and provided instructions again to modify the sensitivity setting (I guess they cannot tell you to disable a safety feature entirely because that would be a liability).So recently my toddler's playing around this desk prompted my leaving a review -- that the desk's main safety feature under normal conditions does not prevent the desk from stopping when it is crushing a very rigid object. I also included my complaint about the oversights on mechanicals related to the axle, which is what BTOD seems to focus on when calling me a liar.BTOD and I exchanged several emails, BTOD seemed to only digress from the real problem I'm complaining about here. In my last email pointed this out, and a need for people to know the danger, after which they left the response above calling me a ******* MY OPINION, which I shared with BTOD, BTOD can make this desk much safer by having the firmware modified to split the sensitivity moving up and sensitivity moving down to two separate user-configurable settings. IDEALLY, users could exchange the controller for one flashed with updated firmware. In my experience when a brand is told their product behaved in an unexpected manner (causing damage especially), the company will at least try to investigate. My experience was that on two separate occasions BTOD glossed over the issue, which reveals to me that they know this is an issue. My guess BTOD is concerned that an update to improve the safety feature's performance would be implicitly admitting there was ever a flaw, which would be a problem if one of these desks ever caused something like a personal injury.Review fromDamon D

My Boss's VertDesk stopped working. Luckily, it has a 5 year warranty! I called BTOD and got top notch help! I explained what was happening and they asked a couple simple questions. Before I knew it, they had replacement parts on the way! I installed the new parts, and the desk is good as new! Being in tech support myself, I only wish all of my warranty repairs were this easy!btod.com

The good news, the BTOD Leap v2 appeared to be new, that's how great the refurb was.The bad news, for the last 50 years, I have only used 2 fingers while at the key board. I tried multiple times to find a set up that worked for me. After 10 days I gave up.My fantastic Customer Rep was April******************. She answered all my questions. Offered to send another chair or another type of chair. In the end she set up the return paperwork and I sent it back. My refund came much quicker than I thought it would.Being only 3 pieces the Leap v2 was super easy to assemble and disassemble.If you are looking for a new chair, check out what BTOD offers first, for much cheaper than new and just as good!btod.com

Amazing customer support . My issue was a malfunctioned cylinder. Not much red tape I had to go threw and most importantly the part was sent and received in a 2 day period. With a ******* link on how to replace it and what i enjoyed the most was them telling you what you need first before doing it . I have replaced a few chair cylinders never thought using a pipe wrench to loosen it from chair . It is very effective. Please BTOD keep up your customer support it's just as valuable as the product. In my case, It is the Main reason I picked your company over the other 10 ***** ******* and other knock offs. Happy I made the right choice.btod.com

I contacted customer service to inquire about obtaining a replacement arm pad, as the left one began to tear. Thankfully, my chair was still under warranty, and BTOD promptly sent me two replacement pads. They provided one to replace the damaged pad and a second so I could ensure that both arm pads matched. I can honestly say I've never had such fast turnaround from any customer service that I've worked with, in the past. The day after I spoke with customer service, I had the new pads sitting at my doorstep. Incredibly fast. Fantastic service.btod.com

I bought 1 chair for black Friday, I was hesitant because refurbished could mean a lot of things, and when i finally got it, i was surprised how the chair was in such a great condition, almost felt brand new. I liked it so much that I ended up buying another one for my girlfriend. Few months later one of the chairs started making some crackling noise, and the noise got so bad over time to the point where I needed to do something. I contacted them and the support person replied to me very fast and send me a photo of where I need to lubricate my chair with a WD-40 Dust proof edition. The fix cost me about 8.50 dollars on Walmart and I cannot tell you how happy I am. Overall these guys have great products and great support, I wish I could give them 10 stars but hey, 5 will do.btod.com

An excellent company to work with. We purchased 3 standing desks from btob, one of which was damaged in transit. tbod sent out a 2nd desktop which was also damaged in transit. They then sent a third desktop out. No hassle and easy to deal with. Two years later I damaged a switch which raises and lowers the desktop (no warranty - my stupidity) and I could not find my original order. April from customer service found my order, figured out what switch I needed, and send it to me at no charge. If you need to talk to customer service, talk to April. Excellent customer service! When my desk wasn't moving up and down like I expected, i contacted customer service and they promptly responded, determined what I my issue was and sent the needed replacement part (free of charge).
