Absolutely terrible service from FH Furr today. I called before 1pm because the heat was out. I called back around 3:30pm and learned the scheduling team dropped the ball and didn’t schedule anyone. They told me someone would be there by 6:30pm, no show at 6:30pm, no contact at all. Customer service said the tech was on a call and would have another call to do before getting to me. Customer service then told me they didn’t appreciate my tone as my in home temp reached 60 degrees and my wife and kids were putting additional layers on to be warm. It’s absolutely unacceptable, made worse by the fact I pay to be a “preferred customer”. They are the worst and I’ll tell everyone how bad they are any opportunity I get.F.H. Mr. H**, I am sorry for any discomfort caused by our inability to respond in a more timely fashion. Our scheduling is based upon a No Timeframe process. When you called in at 12:51pm, the call was answered by a third party and a message was sent to our scheduling team. When you called at 3:39pm, our agent was able to complete the booking process, placing you on the on-call technician's route. In this case, there would not be a timeframe assigned and the only contact you would have received would have been from the technician when he was ready to dispatch to your home. While I do not expect this be of any consolation, Had these conditions been explained it certainly may have allowed you to make a decision earlier to seek out another provider. I apologize for your poor experience with us. I understand that you may not wish to allow us any further opportunities, however I am adding 1 year of our Preferred Partner Plan to your account. By doing this, should you consider or need our services you will retain the 15% discount and waived diagnostic fees. Your account is noted that we will not contact you for any marketing activities, you will contact us. If I can be of assistance, please feel free to contact me. They called us and said we were due for an inspection. We did not have an inspection contract with them, but decided to let them come over. Among other things, they installed a water pressure valve, which was probably a good idea. The first plumber who came out was very pleasant but fairly new. A second plumber "with 40 years of experience" came to install the new valve. This involved cutting the main pipe to the house. The next day the joint failed and a flood ensued behind the drywall. This obviously should not have happened. By the time we noticed and shut off the water there was $10,000 damage to the carpet and the walls. When we called Furr in the middle of the afternoon, they couldn't send anyone until the next day. It took quite a while to make effective contact with their insurance company (Federated, who never did send anyone out to inspect the damage). On the bright side, we had documentation of the cost of the rug and room renovation (4 years ago) and the insurance company reimbursed us promptly. Another complaint is that they made a lot of effort to upsell additional services. We do not plan to use them again.F.H. Furr Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical, Inc.

Mr. H*******, I am sorry that you had this experience with our company. It is never our intent to cause damage to anyone's property. The PRV was installed by an apprentice with oversight from an experienced trainer. One of the solder points did not hold, despite being checked with no leaks present at the time of service. I am glad that our insurance company resolved the situation to your satisfaction. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. We appreciate having the opportunity to improve. Should you choose to give us another opportunity to serve you, we will do what we can to make the experience a good one. Greg B******, Client Relations Manager.Review fromJim V.

Predatory business practices. In mid-October 2023 FH Furr went to the Washington, DC home of my elderly mother-in-law to repair a natural gas furnace that would not ignite. After hours of tinkering, the technician charged her a $275 visit fee and prepared an estimate containing the items below that he said were required to restore operation. Note the first three items have nothing to do with repairing the furnace. • Install EnviroAire Single Lamp UV air purifying system $1,832.25 • Install an EnviroAire Polarized-Media Air Cleaner $1,034.25 • Single zone residential duct cleaning $1,095.00 • Replace standard single speed 80% gas furnace induced draft motor assembly $1,656.22 • Replace draft proving pressure switch $498.13 • Replace hot surface igniter for gas appliance $591.33 Concerned that FH Furr was taking advantage of her, I traveled to DC and examined the furnace myself. After a few minutes of visual inspection, I discovered a loose wire terminal on the draft inducer motor. Upon tightening the connection, I determined that the draft inducer, pressure switch, and igniter all were functioning properly, and the furnace ignited and remained lit. As a precaution against the ultimate failure of the repaired wire terminal, I ordered a factory-spec replacement draft inducer motor assembly from Amazon for about $235 and installed it in about ten minutes. The heating system in the home continues to operate normally. The incompetence, diagnosis through parts replacement, and lack of attention to detail demonstrates FH Furr’s poor employee training and low professionalism. The dishonesty of packaging several thousand dollars of optional equipment and services irrelevant to the original service request shows the predatory nature of FH Furr’s business model. The price-gouging of parts and labor costs and the deceptive sales tactics exploiting a vulnerable senior citizen, in my view, are sufficiently egregious to warrant investigation by regulatory agencies.F.H. Mr. V*****, I am sorry that you feel there was any attempt to take advantage of your mother. Our technicians do the best they can to provide options which will provide lasting results. I understand the concerns regarding the costs of repairs. Your mother was provided five different options which included options that again would provide solutions that would have effectively addressed the issues with the system. Upon my review of the charges, I did find an error and have issued a refund accordingly. A part fee was charged but since none of the repair options were elected, this should not have been charged. I have addressed your concerns with the responsible service manager in order to try and avoid these perceptions in the future. We do not claim to be the cheapest option, but we do warranty our workmanship and parts. We do our very best to ensure the satisfaction of our customers as well. Again, I apologize that we did not satisfy you in this instance. We appreciate the opportunity to serve your mother and hope that we can do so again. Greg B******, Client Relations ManagerJim V.

This response is false. There was one option presented—not five—requiring multiple, expensive components totaling several thousand dollars and most of which had nothing to do with the problem. The fact that I, a layperson with no training could diagnose and repair the furnace for a few hundred dollars in ten minutes while your technician failed to identify the cause and proposed thousands of dollars in unnecessary work demonstrates the deceptiveness of your technician and the dishonesty of this response.Review fromLuigi G

Heywood Hebert is a very knowledgeable and friendly service technician working for F.H. FURR. He did my annual inspection for heating… truly appreciated his efforts, professionalism and knowledge. He deserves 5 stars review… On the other hand, this is a courtesy feedback to the company: You just cannot schedule an appointment wanting a four hours window and then two hours prior to the appointment you cancel and reschedule… it’s a lot of inconvenience and loss of $ for the owner…F.H. Mr. G*****, Thank you for your kind words and acknowledgement for Heywood. Your feedback regarding the scheduling difficulties on our end is valued as well. I see that there were several adjustments made to the appointment shifting techs and timeframes as you mentioned. We did what we could to try and keep things within the timeframe you were promised. We certainly appreciate your flexibility and willingness to continue to work with us. If there is anything further I can assist with, please feel free to reach out to me. FH Furr had previously serviced the home I recently bought via a company that they had since taken ownership of. I had them come to look at the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems of the house, as I had just purchased it and wanted to know the state of things. Long story short, they claimed my circuit breaker needed to be replaced as it was overheating. That electrician has since been moved out of that department for performance reasons. Then they said my water pipes needed to be replaced for $13K. I accepted, fearing future water damage. They cut many holes in the drywall, some unnecessarily due to misjudged placement of pipes. Then there was a leak due to a defective pipe that one of the plumbers should have seen and not used. The damage caused us to remove half of the basement ceiling, all of the drywall on the waterlogged wall, and basement carpet. FH Furr then sent out a single repairman to replace the wall and ceiling. The repairman was shocked it was just him, for a single day, given the damage and extent of work needed. I managed to get another team of theirs scheduled for the following week. After the next team came, the drywall repair that they claimed was finished was not close to as stated. It looked worse than if a first time drywaller attempted to do it. Now I had to schedule them for yet another week later. This originally slated 3 day project has turned into 2 months, and still not resolved. The entire time the contractors from FH Furr have complained about their company's mismanagement and lack of responsiveness to their customers. After 2 months of my home being in disrepair from their own mistakes, I am astonished so many people use this company. Buyer beware, popularity does not mean quality. I will not be using this company again, and will actively warn anyone I know thinking of using them about our terrible experience.F.H. Furr Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical, Inc.

Mr. D****, I am sorry for the additional frustration caused by not sending out a larger team to initially address the drywall work. You were reimbursed for damages to your home by our insurance company and we have made every effort to ensure that you were satisfied. It is never our intent to leave any customer's home damaged or in disarray following our service. I also apologize for anything that would appear as unprofessional behavior from our technicians. Your feedback is appreciated, and we thank you for the opportunity we had to service your home. Greg B******, Client Relations Mgr.Review fromKevin K

Just had a attic fan installed that I supplied was charged n434 dollars freaking insane for four screws three wires. I've have called 4 other companies and they are no where near what you charge. And on top of that your tech never cleaned up any of the insulation that he drop from the attic from the bathroom to the hall to the front door to my front yard. Not once but twice we had to clean up behind him and you charge this amount. well suppose I charge you for me cleaning his mess. Maybe your company should take a hint from all the complaints. Maybe I should contact the attorney general about this. Let them take a look at everything going on.F.H. Furr Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical, Inc.

purchased their preferred service since it was what we had before they purchased Associated Plumbing. I then spent $17,000 on new AC unit. I had a recommended ROUTINE inspection and spent another $3,000 for recommended service on additional units. Immediately after leaving one of the units started blowing warm air. It worked great before they worked on it. I now need to wait 3 days to have them come back out. We were with Associated Plumbing for 20 years and believed in the new ownership. I highly recommend not using themF.H. Furr Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical, Inc.

I bought a energy saving HVAC system in January by July the unit stopped working when i tried to use the air conditioner I called to have someone come out immediately as the weather was above 90 degrees they came out 2 weeks later only to tell me that the fan motor was no longer working another tech came out and gave me a temporary fix, because of a wiring to the thermostat, in the beginning the assistant to the tech assured me that the unit will work fine and as normal with no problems, i have been calling them trying to get this issue resolved since July by leaving them several message, the representatives have been leaving messages and emails etc. and no one has called me back i have left messages with consumer relations they didn't call back until an manager got involved to monitor if they returned my call once i received the call i was given a bunch of excuses and was told that the issue that was causing the problem was missed by the techs in which they are trying to charge me for something that their techs should have noticed/caught before I paid for the unit and had it installed, as i could have went with a different company the guy that i spoke with from consumer relations said he would call me back and as of today i still haven't received a call back I have called FH. Furr again and was told they was leaving a message with consumer relations, etc. and again as of today i still haven't received a call back to have this issue resolvedReview fromLou B

We have an account set up for a rental property in Arlington that requires owners approval before doing any work. I asked to have a plumber go to the property to give us a quote for replacing the shower system as they were not able to fix it. While they were there the plumber talked to the tenant about the clog in the shower that we didn't know about and said he could fix it. He did not try to call any of the three numbers on the account for approval. Instead he pressured the tenant into paying to have it snaked for $523.00. This took less than 15 minutes and this price included a $92 discount for our member savings. I called the client care and after a long discussion they said they would give me $100 off. Before accepting this offer to reduce the rate I said I wanted to talk to my husband. Before calling them back I researched on the internet what a reasonable price to have this work done and saw on the FH Furr website an advertisement for clearing a clog for $83 guaranteed or it would be free. I called the customer care employee, Jordan 5 minutes later and left a message for him to call me. Since then, both my husband and I have called back numerous times with no response. I have called both the Manassas and Arlington office to try to get someone to call me back. I even called their client care department to tell them I was going to be posting negative reviews because of their service and asked them to call and they still have not returned my call. FH Furr took advantage of our young tenant and did not abide by the account authorization procedures. I had to reimburse our tenant as it wasn't fair to hold her responsible. We could have bought two of the electric snake machines for the price they charged us. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company unless you want to be overcharged.
