- Advertising Review:On February 7, 2024, Better Business Bureau contacted The Takeout Times LLC concerning advertising claims found on their website, https://thetakeouttimes.com/. Specifically, The Takeout Times claims their “booklets effectively reach residential and business audiences within your community” and that “Depending on the size of your city, each participating restaurant will distribute 10,000 to over 100,000 menus annually.”
According to BBB’s Code of Advertising, advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. All advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided. Claims that relate to tangible qualities and performance values of a product or service can be used when the advertiser has substantiation. Claims relating to performance and results should be backed up by reliable evidence.
