Be aware! Do not use this service. These people came for a tankless water heater flush. Which I was quoted $100-$150 by two other plumbing companies. I told customer service I wouldn’t be home but my house cleaner was so he could look and get me a quote. He even called through the housekeepers phone to speak to me of which I said let me know how much I’ll be home shortly. When I arrived the work was underway - I’m doing other things, I realize we are still waiting not really sure what he was doing (not realizing he was doing the flush already) and come to find out he quoted my housekeeper $790 to flush out the water heater. Had her sign and started the work. Are you kidding? Then he lied to his supervisor. Said the house keeper led him to believe she was the owner and that she never called me where he spoke to me and I told him I’d be home shortly (I have bank witnesses!) blatant lie - the supervisor Peter also said no calls with customer service were recorded and I have the call log on my phone where they called multiple times trying to schedule this appt. $790!!!!!!! These people were manipulative and then tried to gaslight us when I physically have receipts and their answer was “we will bill the housekeeper and you can figure it out.” Please - call your local plumbing service. These people will rip you off if they have the chance. Ilha or Ilya was our plumbers name. He was barely 18 years old and I get was covering his rear but a total liar.Roto-Rooter

Roto Rooter came out to clear my basement floor drain in September. A few days before Christmas, and it’s backing up again. They brought in the camera guy. He asked me who else lives here. That’s when the scam started. I said I live alone. Next thing I know, I need to have my basement floor ripped out because the pipe is slanted in the wrong direction. They said my insurance should cover it, but don’t talk to them. Let Steve (one of their guys) talk to them. All for the low price of $15,000. I looked up scam Roto Rooter pipe slanting in wrong direction. Boom! It popped right up. I guess their get rich quick scheme backfired on them. Steve showed up the next day and I told him I wasn’t doing business with Roto Rooter again. He yelled in my driveway, “You have a problem!” I replied, “You’re going to have a problem!” I lived here all my life until 45 years old and we never had an issue. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I usually don’t write reviews, but the service from this company was so incredibly bad that others should know before trusting them for their plumbing needs. A Roto-Rooter plumber initially came out and “fixed” the plumbing backup, however they only made the problem worse. Roto-Rooter could have then came back out and addressed the issue but management not only refused to reassess the problem, but also refused to provide a call back to discuss the issue that they made worse. After 5 phone calls over 2 weeks (none of which were returned) a manager sent an email and said Roto-Rooter was not willing to do anything to fix their problem. This put the resident in a potentially hazardous environment which Roto-Rooter should be absolutely ashamed of. This was absolutely heinous service and work from what is supposedly a reputable business. This franchise location is a bad egg..Review fromJanice M

The guys was here for 15 minutes to get my garbage disposal working again. I got charged $369 for the guy turning a wrench twice. The instructions are on their site. I just didnt want to break anything. Then when I tried to call and ask them to lower the price, they said the flat rate is $558. Roto-Rooter is unethical and gouges its customers. Im so sorry I called this business. I feel really stupid that I allowed myself to get ripped off.Review fromLarry M

Roto Rooter came to clean out a block to my main drain in basement and then sent a cameraman to film the drain and what did / did not cause the problem. The work done by the technicians was good and price - while expensive - seemed fair. However, I was promised a copy of the video sent to my email and a brief statement of why the drain likely blocked up. I need this to show tenants re: their part in blocking line. I've been promised this several times and it should be easy to do, but 5 days and at least 5 calls later with several voicemails left and I still have nothing. So the basic work was good but the follow-up customer service has been terrible. I would have initially recommended Roto Rooter, but my overall opinion is now much lower; there has been no one in Roto-Rooter office who is willing to own the follow-up on this.Roto-Rooter

My 81 year old mother who has Alzheimer’s was totally scammed by Roto Rooter. They said they told my brother and my mother that they were gonna charge her $3,520 to get her water back on. They did not tell my brother that, they did tell my mother who had Alzheimer’s. I talked to the manager several times on the phone and I have power of attorney. They should have been telling me.
They replaced water pressure valve and the box. $3,520 we were astounded. When I complained about the price the manager said your mother signed the contract and it’s legal. She had already paid them half and that she owed the rest that day. I asked them if they could reduce the price, I was told No!

I told them about the coupon
they come to my place the job was done only take Abiut 20 minuts to get done

On Friday I called ROTO ROOTER's customer service regarding a valve. I was advised the guarantee from the service repair has expired. That person also advised to me the amount I paid, the date of the service repair and what the tech wrote on the ticket. Today, I had another plumbing company come out and I was advised that the valve that was replaced by ROTO ROOTER is NOT working and is a faulty part. I called over to ROTO ROOTER and requested to talk to a manager. I was then transferred to a Mr, R***. After speaking to Mr, R***, he advised that he will call me back with the information I was asking for. Before I disconnected the line, I asked Mr, R*** can he transfer me back to the main b/c I needed the information regarding the repair ticket. Mr, R*** advised me to call the number I called b4 I got to him. I called the number back and I was transferred a person, and he advised that he was the general manager (JIM, I think) and that he makes the final decision. After going back and forth with this general manager who advises that he makes the final decision, for over 15 mins he was very rude, unprofessional, lacks in communication skills as well as listening skills. This person was very sarcastic, argumentative and aggressive. This person also advised if I would like to have someone come out to do the repair, he can send a tech. I advised "REALLY??" I will never have this company come out to my home ever again. He advised that the call is recording which is great I hope someone can listen. If the two calls were recorded, I would like to have the call reviewed regarding everything I experienced for today. I put in an BBB complaint and no response. They are horrible. I called Rotor Rooter to schedule a plumbing repair service while I was in the hospital for my home November 26, 2004. They told me they could not come out the next day November 27, 2004. My time slot was to be from 12- 4. I chose them because they advertise there service as 24/7 everyday. I waited all day and never received a text or call as to when they would be on the way. I called to see if there was a issue 30 minutes before the ending time slot. Per the dispatcher I was informed that no one would be able to come to my home because they were working on another site. I told them that was poor customer service to have me wait all day and no one bothered to call me. I could have tried another company to fix my leaking pipe. All he kept saying was IM SORRY and they could send someone Friday November 29, 2024. That was not helping me any with water dripping from my ceiling. Then they insulted me with sending a email that my appointment was CANCELED. The appointment was NOT canceled they DID NOT SHOW UP FOR THE APPOINTMENT.Roto-Rooter
