      In early September, I changed my carrier WOW/Astound to Xfinity and was guaranteed that I would be able to keep my landline number. The change was done on September 6th and I have not had a landline since. After numerous trips to the Xfinity store and 15 or more calls to Astound, I had no satisfaction. I even sent a certified letter to Astound in ******* with a copy to their ******** office. Still, no satisfaction. I am an 84 year old widow and have had that number since 2006. It is the only number that friends/family have to reach me and now I am going thru some health risks and it's not a good idea to rely on a cell phone for personal replies. I am frustrated and very disappointed and I need an advocate to help me with my problem.

      Terrible since Astound took over from RCN. Awful speed and reliability, $12/month rent for modem??? Seriously? $95/month others are at $50. With RCN I could speak with someone, now its nearly impossible. If Im giving you $1200/year, I want to be able to talk to a person.

      Phone, Cable Line, and Internet. 400 Mbps up in Sum 2022 or earlier. Asked them lower to 250 Mbps. Linksys router/modem can only jug 350 maps. Thought I would be fine. But system is knocked off again and again. The User Owned Linksys Router/Modem has up to 345 mbps download and upload capacity. Mini receivers for Astound are just conduit. Phone works off of existing cable system. Main Box has to manage cable led services for ** and Phone. It also is the gateway to approve the wireless services added. They were running 125 - 160 mbps down/upload and system was fine. But as of 2021 sometime it went offline. Astound bought RCN. We are not heavy Users or have multiple devices online at the Sametime. Linksys router is above threshold. But Astound decided to boost to 400 on their own. I called repeatedly and then lowered mbps to 250 to accommodate home system. Now it is still bumped off. The 2019 RCN Mainbox was well under the cable only system. Then we added the phone? And internet. The Main Cable box has to approve the Radio Signal aka Wireless from Astound to then channel to the router/modem. But the approved of this is a 2018 RCN Mainbox. Asked for a new Astound Mainbox. One that will be able to manage the 250 mbps radio waves and width, and manage the cable and phone. The ** is fine. The phone is fine. Only WIRELESS is the issue. 10 - 14 calls over the past year. If this doesn't work, then they need to open the band to the 400 mbps what they had gave and I will need to update the router/modem. The people on the phone or nice. Their auto-system of course is limited. Their managers are afraid to get on the line. It might be that they do not share tech system knowledge with them. But this hurts Astound as they are not given the tools to remedy situations for former RCN Customers. Thanks BBB for providing a forum. It might be that the towers they inherited or satellites need upgrading and not affordable. MKI103122 :(

      I had been with WOW for a long time and was on a month to month contract and had autopay set up. Astound comes in. My last ***** May 2022, with WOW was delayed as my card was hacked and I was in process of waiting for the new card to arrive when the payment date passed. I tried to call WOW but Astound call center had already taken over so we had a little bit to get my account set up so I could make the payment and add my new card. Everything seemed fine, customer service told me I was paid up. Then I get another bill for late fees and additional charges. I spoke to one CS and all seemed resolved and new card on file, **** is paid up. I get another invoice, more than the $189 I was paying with WOW and I call again; if I switch to Astound's equipment I can save about $12, and get that reduced price for 12 months for loyalty discount, so I switch. All the while, my online account says I am paid in full. But appreantly they billed me for the 5 days before I made the switch for $214.00! I see at the end of July my bill is going to autopay on 8/2. Fine. 8/2 arrives and $358 dollars is taken out of my account! I cancel service and explain I want my money back, return the equipment and I am still getting a bill for $360.25. Trying to figure out why and their customer service can't figure it out and now they threaten collections. They claim I owed money all along, even though my account had a card on file, they claim I had $20 of late fees. I have spoken to 7 different people and no one can seem to help me. I am happy to pay what I owe, when the bill is what I agreed to. I want WOW back.

      I have been a customer for 2 years. My rate has increased tremendously. You offer new customers $45 for the same speed I have. This is not customer service those of us who pay on time and are loyal get Fd over. Ive been trying to speak to a supervisor for days. I guess they dont care about their customers

      They took over wow and put bogus equipment on my bill and want me to pay for it; I have never had the equipment because I have my own modem, the last person I talk to stated I have a phone equipment modem,I have had my own modem and my phone is magic ***** I also asked them why was it not on none of my invoices and ****** that I spoke with on 10/13/22 said it would not be on my invoices,so then I asked why is it on there now. He stated that have to find the modem. In the meantime they charged me $225.00 and I am very upset. I want that money credit to my account . I spoke with about five people and every last one had a different reason why those charges was on my invoice since they took over. However I been paying since May and that equipment was not on my invoice until September when I noticed it. I feel like this is a bogus charge and I am not paying nothing else to this company until they resolve it or I get another service. I don't like how they handling this problem.

      My account# is *************** and my case# is ******* and it was also *******. When I became a customer with wow I already had my modem and magic **** the only thing I paid for was receivers and they have all been returned, wow came out I think I'm 2021 to give me more cable on my modem because it was to short and I could not move it so they put a extension on my modem. I don't know where you get that I have a modem. When I was even paying with wow. I want those bogus charges off my account and my accounted credited. I am angry that this happen and everyone I talked to said they don't see I was paying for a modem either because I had my own.

      I just called again today and I still have bogus charges on my account,I talk to a ***** who excused me if still having equipment,once again I have never had a wow modem I have always had my own and still have my own. I have always been charged for adapters,which have been returned. I am upset that it taking this long to resolved this problem. I want this resolved ASAP. THANK YOU

      Con artists of the first degree.My mother has been a faithful RCN (now Astound) customer for over 16 years. She pays them $150/month for 155/15 internet speeds. There is a bus that goes by her house with signs advertising Gigabit speeds for 49.99/month. Let's face it, taking advantage of an old lady on fixed-income by charging 3x the price for 1/10th the speed is criminal.

      I do believe they bought off more than they could handle buying WOW. The equipment and software provided is from an old not well thought off company which makes the programming and use of the on-screen tv controls a nightmare. Contributing to this is the lack of any substantial documentation. The most important deficiency in my mind is their advertising to be a great internet provider... to date they cannot deliver the internet speeds they advertise. And what is worse is it appears that are doing nothing to correct this. The old WOW network delivered high speed internet so why cant they if they only took over the WOW net??? The replacement equipment doesn't live up to even their standards. Until they address this issue I am afraid their customer rating will stay below 2 out of 5.

      BEWARE!! astound offered an introductory offer of $45/mo then increased it to $65 three months later then to $90!!!! i am trusting and did not review my autopay until it was too late. i will cancel. beware and **************** if you risk using them. i wish I had been warned. this company is deceptive in their advertising and unethical in how they deal with customers. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!

      Unmitigated failure of service and tech/admin transition from WOW! by Astound/RCN. My WOW! download speed was reduced by 84%. My WOW! upload speed was reduced by 82%. My new home landline phone service is a joke.My WOW! account credentials didn't transfer to Astound/RCN as they explicitly promised in advance in writing. Consequently I'm locked out of all streaming cable channels to which I was entitled by having been a WOW! subscriber. Astound/RCN's answer to cable cutters like me? In order to get streaming cable TV channels you have to have digital cable. You can't make this stuff up.I understand disgruntled customers throw around a lot of extreme negative characterizations. In this case Astound/RCN has zealously lived down to all of them. If you don't believe it go on any social media outlet and read the thousands of horror stories for yourself.My home office video conferencing and remote networking have slowed to a crawl since the transition from WOW!. I can't access any streaming cable channels that require a login. HBO *** buffers every 30 seconds rendering it unwatchable. Astound/RCN home phone service is straight out of 1992.There are regular total service outages that last for hours with no explanations given. The latest was a 4-hour outage Friday 9/23/22 which knocked me offline and made it impossible to work for a half day, requiring me to make up the hours over the weekend.To add insult to injury. Astound/RCN raised my rates in inverse proportion with the tragicomic decline in service. Thousands of former WOW! subscribers have been without Internet, phone, and TV intermittently at best (many permanently) since the change-over, including many small businesses. Astound/RCN's bad, unreliable service continues. Astound/RCN has authored one of the greatest case studies of all time in the systematic destruction of a reliable, high quality service. This is a failure of a company. To anyone out there considering Astound/RCN as a cable provider, DON'T!
