I joined the Academy in September 2021. While it started off as everything that was promised, things started changing about 8 months in. Things that were sold as part of the Academy started disappearing-first client 1:1s that could be scheduled at multiple times during the day, EFT calls, sales call reviews, rejoining fees changed with no explanation after being used as a selling point on the discover call, no access to recorded videos from my time in the Academy if one chose not to rejoin, lack of training for new mentors who were unable to help in breakouts, posted questions that would go a whole day without an answer because of post approval, and no more breakouts for office calls. Some of these happened after my time was up but it was shared by current students what was happening. When you take out a loan to pay for the Academy as myself and many others did, I don’t expect things to be taken away or to be learning from teaching modules that need updating. I can assure you I was “determined, motivated, and coachable” and I wasn’t the problem. My issue is the lack of integrity with how things were handled in the Academy as well as with other programs offered that I’m thankful I didn’t waste money on. I think if people weren’t blocked from certain pages or threatened with legal action, maybe the negative reviews wouldn’t be such a small number. When family & friends (some employed by the Stay at Home Bookkeeper) need to write Google reviews there’s definitely a problem with integrity. New students seem to be having a much different experience so maybe things have improved or they just don’t know what they’re missing, but I know that things that existed when I joined held the real value behind deciding to join for that much money. It’s not my place to speak for the many others who aren’t as satisfied with their experience which includes both current and past students, but maybe they’ll share their experience here too if they weren’t already blocked from the page.Stay at Home Bookkeeper Academy

Dear Lani, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. I’m genuinely sorry to hear that your experience with The Stay at Home Bookkeeper Academy changed over time, and I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. I understand your frustration with the changes you mentioned, such as the availability of 1:1 calls, EFT calls, and sales call reviews. As the academy grew, we made adjustments to adapt to the needs of our students, which, unfortunately, led to changes in how certain services were delivered. I regret that these changes affected your experience negatively. Our intent has always been to improve and expand the support we offer to meet the needs of our growing community, but I recognize that this transition wasn’t communicated as clearly as it should have been, and that’s something we’re actively working on improving. Regarding access to videos and changes in rejoining fees, I want to clarify that we’ve restructured some of our offerings to ensure that we continue to provide value to current and returning students. However, I understand that the lack of access to content from your time in the academy was frustrating, and I’m sorry that this made you feel unsupported. We’re now committed to more transparency when it comes to fee structures and content availability, ensuring that students have clear information moving forward. Your comments on the training for new mentors and the responsiveness of the community are also important. We’ve made significant improvements in this area by adding more mentors and expanding office hours to ensure that students have access to guidance when they need it most. We strive for a response time of 30-40 minutes, and I’m pleased to share that we are currently averaging a response within 5 minutes, providing more immediate support to our community. These improvements aim to ensure that no question goes unanswered and that students feel supported at all times. Since your time with us, the academy has continued to evolve, and I’m heartened to hear that new students may be having a better experience. Our goal is to continuously improve, and feedback like yours has been instrumental in helping us create a more responsive, supportive environment for all students. I would love the opportunity to connect with you personally to discuss how we can address your concerns further. I’ve been trying to reach out and would still welcome the chance to speak with you directly, as we are committed to helping our students succeed, no matter where they are in their journey. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and I hope we can find a way to work together and show you how the academy has continued to grow and improve. I have been in this group for almost 2 years. I went from having no experience with bookkeeping, to owning my own business! This group not only taught me the basics of bookkeeping, they taught me how to get my business going and growing. My favorite thing about this group tho, is the one on one help you get with your clients. Every time I have a question, I can ask for a private breakout session for a mentor to walk me through the steps of making my client’s books accurate. The mentors are FANTASTIC!Stay at Home Bookkeeper Academy

Horrible company. Not worth the money or investment. Constant changes, constant price increases, no refunds, doesn't teach much, basically unorganized content that you pay too much for.Stay at Home Bookkeeper Academy

Dear Michele, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that you felt your experience with The Stay at Home Bookkeeper Academy was not worth the investment, and I’d like to address your concerns directly. We recognize that changes to the program, including pricing adjustments, can be frustrating, especially when you're investing in your future. As the academy has grown, we’ve continually expanded our offerings to ensure that our students have access to the most up-to-date training, tools, and support needed to succeed. These changes, while necessary to improve the overall experience, have sometimes led to increased costs to reflect the additional value and resources provided. Regarding your concern about the refund policy, I understand that can be frustrating. Our policy is designed to ensure that our students are committed to the program, but I’m more than happy to discuss potential remedies with you directly to address any specific issues you may have faced. As for the program’s organization, we have worked diligently to improve the structure of our content and ensure that it is easily accessible and aligned with the needs of bookkeeping professionals at all stages of their journey. We’ve added more resources, mentors, and success managers to support students, along with live coaching and community interaction to enhance the learning experience. We take pride in the positive feedback we receive on the organization and effectiveness of our content, but we also know there is always room to improve. If you would be open to a conversation, I’d love the opportunity to connect with you personally to better understand your experience and explore how we might make things right. Our commitment remains to help our students succeed, and I hope we can demonstrate how the academy has evolved. Thank you again for your feedback, and I look forward to the possibility of resolving your concerns.
