  This place is the worst. I bought a car from them a year ago that was listed as runs and drives with a misfire and i have since put in a new engine and now i find out the entire suspension is totally shot. I barely got to drive it at all and its a total loss. Plus they charged me 1100 more than the winning bid price. Scammers 1000% do not buy here. Im still paying this car off and i have nothing to show for all my money gone. I wouldnt even give them a star.

  This car was purchased on 10/12/2022 (Over 1 year ago). It's a 2011 **** Taurus SHO with ******* miles at that time. We disclosed the following on the auction: "Check Engine Light is on showing code P0303. TPMS light is displayed. Engine is misfiring and produces blue exhaust ********** driven only." Clearly the car had issues and we gave our bidders all the information we had upon inspection including a video of the engine running that shows the engine misfiring/shaking. We did not do a full test drive as stated (Lot driven only). Our fees are clearly shown to all bidders. $513.24 of the "****more" was required sales tax, transfer fees, and county tax. We've been in business for over 23 years and strongly disagree that we are scammers. See link to watch the engine running video: *******************************************

  I was high bidder on a VW that was listed as runs and drives. I got a shipper to pick it up and it didn't run. Unfortunately they didn't call me at this point as I would have had some leverage but instead they winched it onto the trailer and delivered it. The car will not crank. I called Cranky ape and asked for the manager. The rep asked me why and I explained it. She put me on hold and spoke to the manager. She said I bought the car as is and they can do nothing for me. I explained that I had bid on a car that ran and had it not I would have bid on it. They repeated I bought it as is. So, I've learned a lesson and I hope you don't have to do the same.

  The auction description stated the following:"Mechanical: Cooling fan mounts are broken. Fan rattles. Front right tire was driven flat (deep cuts on the side). Check Engine Light is on/blinking showing codes U0423, P0070, P0301, P0303, P0304, P0302, P0300, P0011, and P2100. TPMS light is displayed.   I have bought a few vehicles from Cranky Ape-when I have picked them up they are started by the lot employees and delivered from the storage lot to the front customer pick up area. When my shipper arrived he was informed that they couldn't get the car to start. He then decided to have the secure gate opened by an employee and go into the storage lot and winch the vehicle onto his truck. If anything happened in the week since the auction for the car closed it happened at the hands of an employee of Cranky Ape. I think that if a car is listed as running when its sold should be running when it is picked up. Also I feel that the manager should take the time to talk to his customers rather than have an employee relay the information.

  Rick *  I have bought more than half a dozen motorcycles, half a dozen cars a bunch of boats and a couple Highway tractors and have been very satisfied with the descriptions, Some of these folks have to remember this is an auction if you want it like new its going to cost you!
