After paying my monthly bill via my bank bill pay 11 days before it was due, I began getting overdue notices 1 day after the due date. After multiple attempts to resolve the issue including emailing the confirmation ********** of payment, I received another threatening email that my service would be cut off of I didn't pay. I finally got a representative who was persistent and finally discovered my payment was credited to another customer's account. Extremely disappointed in Nexamp's customer service. And unfortunately this is not the first issue I've had. I'm tempted to discontinue my service.Nexamp

Hello ****,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the frustration this situation has caused. Receiving overdue notices despite making your payment is understandably concerning. We're pleased to see that our customer support team was able to assist and resolve the issue.
Many of our customers find that paying through their ********************** online account and enrolling in autopay ensures their payments are processed accurately and on time. That said, we recognize the importance of addressing your concerns and are taking steps to ensure similar situations do not happen again. Your experience is important to us, and were committed to improving our processes to better serve you and all our customers. A member of our team will follow up with you privately to further address your concerns.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for giving us the opportunity to make things right.

Hello *****,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about your frustration. At Nexamp, we are committed to providing a positive experience for all our customers, and we understand how unexpected changes in billing can be concerning.
To clarify, Nexamp bills in arrears, meaning your invoice reflects the solar credits that have already been applied to your utility account from prior months. Occasionally, delays in credit processing or utility coordination can lead to bills that include charges for multiple cycles of credits at once. While this may make it seem like theres a sudden increase, rest assured that all credits youve earned are applied to your utility bill, resulting in savings over time.
We deeply value your support of renewable energy and your partnership in creating a positive impact on the environment. Thank you for your patience as we work to address your concerns. We will reach out to you directly to ensure we provide a resolution and address any remaining questions.

ZERO STARS DO NOT USE.... DO NOT INQUIRE.... DO NOT CONTACT>>>>I am trying to support alternative sources of electric power. I inquired and apparently also "signed up", though that was months after the fact. "I was waiting for an opening in their roster"The first bills were reasonable and I "assumed" there was a credit in my regular electric bill. Then I got a huge bill - above my normal bill. That when I started checking... IF any credits were applied they were very minimal (at best) or non-existent Long story......... but my electric bill are now double what it was a year ago. My regular provider (24+ years and a supporter of alternative sourcing) has no record of any "savings". I canceled this account and was told I would continue be responsible for up to 90 days. At 180 days+, I am still getting invoices. Repeated calls to "customer service" has provided a variety of ineffective responses or out right lies. My regular provider has told me that it takes only a phone call from nextamp to cancel.... Apparently Nextamp cannot make this ******* NOT USE NEXTAMP>>> SUPPORT ALTERNATIVE POWER SOURCES... DO NOT USE NEXTAMP....Nexamp

Hello ******,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience youve experienced. At Nexamp, we are committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience, and we take concerns like yours very seriously.
We understand your disappointment regarding your expectations for savings and the challenges encountered during the cancelation process. Wed like to address the points youve raised and provide clarity on how our community solar program operates.
Community solar is designed to help customers save money by offsetting electricity costs with solar energy credits, applied at a guaranteed discount. While Nexamp issues invoices separately from your utility, the savings are measurable when reviewed over an annual cycle. Seasonal fluctuations in solar production mean credits may vary month-to-month, but the programs overall design ensures consistent annual savings. Our team strives to explain this process thoroughly during enrollment and follow-ups, and we apologize if any confusion remains about how the program functions.
Regarding the cancelation process, the 90-day timeline is outlined in the agreement signed at enrollment. This period accounts for the administrative processes required by the utility to finalize cancelation. During this time, you continued to receive solar energy credits, which reduced your utility bill, and Nexamp invoices were generated for those credits. Its also important to note that Nexamp bills in arrears, ensuring every solar energy credit billed has already been applied to your utility account. This guarantees the promised savings are delivered and explains why you would have received invoices after your initial cancelation request.
We hope this explanation helps, and wed be happy to review your account further to address any outstanding concerns privately. Thank you for supporting alternative energy, and we regret that our program didnt meet your expectations. Nexamp remains dedicated to helping communities embrace renewable energy solutions while delivering meaningful savings.Review fromgerald

Buyer beware.. I signed up for nexamp several months ago thinking I would save a little on my monthly electric bill. I wasnt expecting much savings and I would have been happy with just 5%. First couple of bills were about the same as previous years billing cycle. Three months later I saw about 20% higher than previous years billing cycle. Six months later here we are and my most recent bill has almost doubled from previous years billing cycle. Yes doubled. It could be because I cancelled last month and now theyre really sticking it to me.. Nexamp does some pretty good marketing, Im all for green energy, but not at these extreme costs!!Nexamp

Hello ****,
Thank you for writing in. Were sorry to hear about the difficulties youre facing and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
When you subscribe to Nexamp, you are assigned a portion of a nearby solar farm, which generates solar credits based on your share. These credits are applied directly to your National Grid utility bill, reducing the amount you owe. In ********, Nexamp charges only for the credits you use to offset your utility costs each month, ensuring you pay only for what you use while still receiving a 10% discount.
Its important to note that Nexamp bills for credits in arrears, meaning there is a delay between when credits appear on your National Grid bill and when we invoice you. This allows us to confirm that credits have been applied to your utility account. In your case, the recent invoice reflects credits for two cycles, as we needed to catch up to a normal billing cadence. While this may have made your bill appear higher, rest assured these credits have already been applied to your ************* account, providing you with the expected savings. We apologize for the inconvenience and are committed to minimizing such disruptions in the future.
Were committed to ensuring you can easily track and maximize your savings. If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, our support team is available at ************ or ********************************* Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST.

Hello ****,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Were sorry to hear about the challenges youre facing and are committed to addressing your concerns.
When you cancel with Nexamp, the request is marked on your account immediately. However, with community solar programs like ours, the cancelation must also be processed by Central Maine Power (CMP). This process can take up to 90 days, during which youll continue receiving solar energy credits. This timeline is outlined in the original contract and the cancelation email you received.
To confirm your credits, please check the Your Generation Details (kWh) section of your CMP bill under the Allocated Generation column. You can match these credits with the 'kWh Generated' column on your Nexamp invoice to align each month's solar generation. Please note, Nexamp invoices are based on the solar farms generation for your share, not your monthly electricity usage. Each Nexamp invoice also includes the dates when the solar energy and credits were generated. Any surplus credits roll over to future utility bills, especially during winter when solar production decreases. We recommend reviewing your savings on an annual basis due to these seasonal fluctuations.
We are a veteran-founded organization dedicated to helping communities transition to clean energy while saving on electricity costs. Serving thousands of customers nationwide, we are committed to transparency, integrity, and exceptional service. If you have additional questions regarding your Nexamp account, our team will continue to be here to assist. We can be reached at ************ or ********************************* We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST.

while this all may be true, note that they say they are billing on my share of solar farm, not actual ******** seems that i have paid way more for electricity these last few months than ever before, with nothing really different than before.they make the claim they are dedicated to transparency, but their invoice have little real useful info to be able to compare, but since they are veteran founded it must all be above board. is any independent organization monitoring this company ?Review fromCheryl B

Hello ******,
Were sorry to hear that your experience with Nexamp has not met your expectations. Our program is designed to help you save on your electricity costs by providing solar energy credits that offset your utility charges from ******************* (CMP).
As part of your subscription, youll receive two bills: one from CMP, reflecting your energy usage minus the credits applied, and one from Nexamp for those credits at your discounted rate. This two-bill system allows CMP to credit you for the power generated by your portion of the solar farm, while Nexamp bills you for those credits at a reduced cost. If your usage exceeds the credits generated by your share in a given month, CMP will bill you for any additional energy used.
To better track these credits, you can review the Allocated Generation section under Your Generation Details on your CMP bill. It is recommended that you look at the production periods that are listed on the Nexamp invoices. This reflects the dates that the electricity was generated on our solar farm. While they do not match the usage dates on your utility bill, it should help you better understand when they were used to reduce your electricity costs.
We understand your frustration and assure you that Nexamp is committed to delivering real savings to our subscribers. As a veteran-founded company, we proudly help thousands of customers in multiple states save on their energy costs each month. We will have a representative reach out to you directly to ensure your needs are met moving forward.

Once they begin charging for the credits that I get from our utility company, Versant, the charges are twice what the credits were charged at. A fraud. I have copies of the versant bills and the value of the credit shown along with the charges for those credits made by Nexamp.Nexamp

Hello *****,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Were here to help ensure that you feel fully supported and have a clear understanding of how your credits work. A representative will reach out directly to discuss your account and explore how we can best assist you.
Please note that the credits provided by Nexamp offset both the supply and delivery charges on your Versant bill. While Versant lists your kWh consumption with separate charges for supply and delivery, the kWh credits generated by our solar farm apply to both, helping reduce your total bill.
We look forward to assisting you further and helping you maximize your savings.

Hello ***,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback. Were sorry to hear about the difficulties youre experiencing, and were here to help. We understand that you've been in contact with our team regarding your concerns. Our records indicate that a representative has attempted to reach you via phone and email but was unsuccessful. We apologize for not being able to connect with you earlier.
Please note that Nexamp waits to bill customers until we receive confirmation from your utility that credits have been successfully applied to reduce your electricity costs. We will reach out to you again directly to discuss your specific concerns and ensure all your questions are answered so you can clearly see the savings from our program.
Regarding your cancelation request, once received, it is immediately marked on your account. However, to fully remove your account from the project, we must forward the cancelation request to National Grid. After they receive the notice, it may take 13 billing cycles for your account to be removed from the project and for the credits to stop applying. This is why both the original contract and the cancelation email provided in November mention that the process may take up to 90 days.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to resolving this for you and addressing any additional concerns you may have.

Very misleading company that saves your very little if nothing at all. The billing is very confusing and that is done on purpose to make you believe your saving money. **************** is vague and rude. After six months you start getting invoices for energy consumption 2-3 months prior and bills increase dramatically. I have since cancelled and the bills continue to role in. I am installing solar at my house now (great federal and state incentives right now) and seeking legal action against Nexamp. Trust me it's not worth it. Bait and switch business model. On an environmental note (very important to me) the solar farms they pull credits from have very little regulation and are not contructed with best land use practices in mind.Nexamp

Hello ******,
We regret to hear that you are not fully satisfied with our program, and we appreciate the opportunity to address any concerns you may have. Our team has worked diligently and respectfully to respond to your questions, and we remain committed to assisting you further.
As a Nexamp community solar subscriber, you have a share of one of our solar projects generating clean energy directly into the grid. Your utility, Central ******, applies a reduction to your usage costs based on the amount of solar energy your share produces monthly. This means you still receive a bill from ********************, but it is reduced by the value of the Nexamp community solar credits generated. Nexamp then invoices you separately for the value of these credits, at a 10% discount, ensuring that you are only billed for credits applied based on your usage.
Nexamp bills for services in arrears to allow time for utility confirmation, which results in a delay between when credits appear on your Central ****** account and when we bill you. Each credit applied to your utility account reflects our 10% discount, which contributes to consistent savings over time.
Regarding your cancelation, please know that we process the requests immediately. However, Central ****** can take up to 90 days to complete this process. During this period, you may continue to receive solar credits, which will further reduce your Central ****** ****. The contract you signed, and the cancelation email we provided both specify that this process can take up to 90 days.
Our team works hard to provide comprehensive assistance and transparency regarding our program. For further insights, we encourage you to visit our *********** at *************************************.
If you have questions about our land use practices, we also invite you to explore more about our sustainability efforts here: ***************************************************.
Nexamp holds itself to high standards, collaborating with state and local agencies to ensure sustainable land use that supports our mission to deliver clean energy and meaningful savings to the communities we serve.
We hope the information provided here and in our direct correspondence has been helpful, and we remain committed to assisting you further as needed.
