Amazing service! I had been to this Valvoline once before several years ago in a different car. I came in because my van had a light saying "Service engine soon" and I thought it may be the transmission fluid. They explained the service engine soon light was set by the previous garage that changed my oil. They did check my oil as well as my transmission fluid which was low. They refilled the transmission fluid and checked all the other levels. They offered an oil change which I refused as I felt I didn't need it yet. For all of this they charged me exactly nothing! They called it in a courtesy check and I call it amazing service in this day and age, especially in San Francisco!Review fromKait D

Go ANYWHERE else. Went against my better judgement and brought car here, it was getting late and was the last open. To summarize- they emptied our oil but didn’t put any back in (didn’t know this at the time). We were told “good to go”. As soon as we get onto the road, IMMEDIATE problems. Car shut itself off, the damage was done. We were told we needed a NEW ENGINE. The “manager” admitted fault and agreed to pay invoice. Weeks of back and forth, to be told nevermind, we’re not paying it. BS! After reading other reviews here with similar stories, I feel even more disgusted. Don’t be fooled, “customer care” will NOT follow up with you and will definitely NOT make things right. Shame on these people. Avoid at all costs!Review fromMichele M

I asked for a oil change. Charged me 65$ They took the oil out by the top??.Always from the bottom. So I asked why that way? Then I asked why I wasn't getting a new oil filter? He said that would be extra 24.99??. I will never go back. Very disappointed in this business! I advise other people to find another place to have their oil change. Very disappointed in this place. Don't go to any instant oil change locations. The risk does not outweigh the ease of service. The prices are hiked and you're far more likely to get better service and diagnostics from full repair shops. It may be more time consuming - but speed isn't the best consideration when dealing with your vehicle. This place caused me a new transmission and extremely heartless when it comes to expressing any emotions towards the mistake they made, even refusing to provide me any evidence support how they did not do such damage, after bringing up there being videos of each time they worked on my vehicle. Not once did they say that footage supported their claim, nor did they give that footage to said attorneys general. So no, do not go to instant oil change places, and if they respond to this with a typical PR message, just know that - no they are not going to reach out to me at all about this experience. I am disappointed with my experience at Vavoline. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change on November 29th 2014 at 1:10pm specifically at the 2975 N Hight St location, but the service was not performed correctly, which resulted in additional damage and expenses for me. When I brought this to their attention, they refused to take responsibility or offer assistance in resolving the issue. I expected better accountability and customer service from a professional business. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them based on this experience.Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Currently, my vehicle is inoperable, and while a few of your team members—Angel and another individual on 12/10/24—have shown compassion, tonight’s interaction with Jamin left much to be desired. While I sought clarity on my situation, Jamin appeared dismissive, shifted topics, and admitted to lacking knowledge about my claim. Despite reading my car's diagnostic codes and consulting with the store manager, Jariza, he assured me that nothing was wrong on Valvoline’s part, blaming the issue on spark plugs and other components. However, as I explained, oil or mishandling under the hood (where team members Tamia, Jushawn, and Rishi worked) could have caused this damage. I have been a loyal customer at this location for over 15 years, including two years with my current vehicle. Before this visit, my car was functioning perfectly fine, even though I was slightly overdue for service. The check engine light only appeared after my visit, and now it’s back on. Despite this, no one is taking responsibility for the damage. Additionally, Jamin’s behavior tonight was unprofessional. While unplugging the car reader, he let it fall on my foot—whether intentional or not, the lack of an apology was unacceptable. His frustration with my concerns does not excuse such actions, and I will not tolerate being treated poorly, especially as I seek resolution for my damaged vehicle. I have a disabled child who relies on me for transportation to critical appointments, making this situation even more urgent. Your claim process has left me unable to drive my car, and your team has advised me not to address repairs until the claim is resolved. Yet, no steps have been taken to fix my vehicle or order the necessary parts. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will take further action, including hiring legal representation. Absolutely horrible experience at this Valvoline location. I waited over 3 hours for a simple oil change while watching new customers come and go, getting their service done almost immediately. The staff showed no sense of urgency or consideration for customers who had been waiting. It felt like I was completely overlooked and unimportant. Oil may have been changed ok but skid plate was hanging when my daughter arrived home. When we went back was told that it was broken. The biggest issue is the lies, misinformation, refusal of area managers to speak with consumer and corporate level refused to do anything to rectify the claim stating that they leave it up to the local managers to make final decisionValvoline Instant Oil Change

Read the reviews before you go here unless you want to spend hundreds of not thousands on repairs after you leave!! I took my car in yesterday for an oil change which I had to wait over an hour just to be seen. Drove it straight home which is only 6 miles away and didn’t drive it until going to work this morning which is where the problem started. All of a sudden an “engine maintenance required” light comes on. I have a 2019 ****** Rav 4 with 43,870 miles on it and I baby that car. Nothing was wrong with it when I took it in! I called and spoke to Tyler, the manager, who walked me thru how to reset the light, but this was different than the oil light so that didn’t work. He told me to bring it in so I drove straight up there and had a guy try to do the exact same thing I tried and of course it didn’t work. Tyler comes over and says he used to work at ****** and that is an emissions light that I don’t need to worry because it’s no big deal and without even looking under the hood or anything, sent me on my way assuring me it was nothing they did. After looking it up online it looks like a coolant bypass valve that could cost up to $1000. My car was perfectly fine before they touched it. I should’ve followed my instinct and left after watching these people work on the cars in front of me. They took forever and the amount of questions that had to asked by the techs the whole time I was there should’ve been enough of an indication that they have no clue what they are doing!Valvoline Instant Oil Change
