    11/2023 - My partner and I signed a contract to have Full Coverage Handyman & Painting do a remodel on the house we were buying. The repair was a gut and remodel of 2/3 of the house and we were initially told the house would be livable the week of Christmas 2023. There were numerous delays - some planned, most not - that caused us to not move into the house until the end of February 2024. Once we were living in the house we determined that work was not being done consistently throughout the week. We asked numerous times if there would be additional labor available to work on the house, especially on the days that contractor was not available, but no one ever came. We asked repeatedly what would be needed to get the house complete, but were never advised the quote originally provided was under bid and that the budget would need to be increased in order to do the remodel properly and efficiently. On 4/1/2024 we were notified via email that Full Coverage Handyman & Painting had decided to dissolve their business due to "financial and health reasons" and our contract was canceled as of 3/29/2024. Throughout this process, a total of $23,340.82 was paid to the contractor; most payments were made off schedule at the request of the contractor. Now, after bringing in other contractors to determine what it would cost to finish the remodel, we are being told that the work done was subpar - and in one case detrimental to the structural integrity of the ceiling - that it would be beneficial to re-gut the house and re do the work, and that the initial quote was massively under bid.
