I used *** to send my phone, and apparently in transit, my box arrived with NO PHONE inside, based an email I received from Phobio, on 1/9/25. And they were to open a claim with ***, once they received confirmation that I had a receipt (which they asked for a photo of) and then they asked for pictures of the box, with the phone it and outside. Which I did not take, not thinking that this would be needed. I was told by "***" that should I have the **** I could contact my service provider and notify them that the phone was missing and put a block on the phone and I did that. Then, I was asked on 1/16/25 to provide a serial number, and that a claim would be opened with ***, told it can take up to 30 days. I waited until 2/14/25 to check the status via email, after I sent my email, I received a notice that my case was closed with NO details provided. And I opened another case on 2/17/25. It took Phobio until 2/24/25 to respond to my new case, with the information that the previously closed case was still in the works with ***. And that I should be happy to know that based on their great news, they were able to determine that the **** status was Enabled, and that I can file a police report to have it located and possibly returned. How Phobio has access to a FindMy via an Apple system to check that the phone is enabled is beyond me. As even Apple can't do that. I asked "Ace" who is back on my support ticket for confirmation on the *** process and Apple validation. Then it was mentioned that in order for them to continue with *** they needed my Serial # and device description. That was already provided in my previous interaction AND included in the "great news" notice from Phobio which included that the **** was enabled. I have not received a response (mind you, it's only been an hour, since writing this post). But, honestly, what a terrible experience this has been.

The $270 you were initially quoted was based on the device model you selected during the trade-in process. However, please note that quotes are not guaranteesthey are finalized once the device is received and inspected. If you remember, we ask that all customers remove their device from their ****** account before it is shipped for inspection. We are able to identify any devices that are locked to a personal account or reported as lost or stolen, as this will make the trade ineligible. In cases of missing packages, we can only reimburse the amount *** approves for claims, which is $100. Since we have no way to verify that the quoted device was inside the package before it was lost, this creates a challenge for both our customers and us. We'd essentially be paying for something we never received. We understand how frustrating this situation is, and we want to ensure that *** conducts a thorough investigation. If your claim is approved, the reimbursement will go directly to you, not Phobio.

Quoted 300 dollars for my Macbook Air. There was NO damage to this laptop whatsoever. I finally get a response from this company and my offer has gone from 300 dollars to 60 dollars, with a picture of damage on the corner of the laptop. Clearly this happened either in transit or while at this facility as there was no damage when I sent this laptop. I requested a return and will now received back a laptop that was damaged.

Hello *******. Thank you for your review. After reviewing your inspection results and the photo taken, we're just as concerned about the damage we found. Knowing your shipping kit includes a bubble wrapper, and your laptop is closed while it is in the shipping box, how can your laptop have damage on the inside? That is something we have no way of figuring out how it happened, but we reported it to you. With consideration of how much it would cost to repair it, the value was revised accordingly. If you are able to figure out what may have happened, please get in touch with us at ******************************************************** so we can assess your trade again.

I've made quite a bit of trade ins with Phobio over the last couple months through the ****** trade in program without issues. For some reason, my most recent trade ins (six devices), two of my devices went through and the rest (four of them) are pending inspection...for two weeks. The online phobio portal showed that all the devices were received. Signed by *******. I sent in support tickets asking for updates on the other four devices and finally, a week later Amadis from Phobio responds with this-"Thank you for reaching out to us. We received multiple packages with the same shipping label used for one trade. When this happens, only one will be marked as received and the others recycled. It is imperative that each device is sent with their respective shipping kit so that they are properly received to that trade. We will check to see if the items can be retrieved or not and let you know as soon as possible."How is that possible? I shipped all the items with the separate shipping kit they gave me. Two of them were inspected and went through right away. Can't you match the shipping tracking numbers with the trade ins? That's what I did to make sure which device goes in which shipping kit. How can they all be under one? I asked for proof but they didn't send it to me. I sent in my *** receipts and that the packages were delivered to them, each and every shipping box. Delivered. Seems like they lost the packages and now is putting the blame on me for the issues. That's over $1000+ of trade ins gone!

Hello ****, We're sorry for the delay with inspecting your trades. We have all remaining four that are currently being inspected as we speak and should be completed by tomorrow at the latest. If what we received matches what was selected to be traded in, your trade will be marked for payment. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

They are stating my trade-in smartphone is damaged, but I sent they photos of both sides of my device powered-on. There is absolutely no physical damage, and next to no physical wear, mostly because I barely used it since it's purchase. In a correspondence with their "customer service," the *** states that since damage was discovered, I had 14 days to accept a lower offer. Here's the thing, when I first received the email stating my device was being returned, it made no mention of a 14-day window to accept a revised offer. Nonetheless, I emailed support the moment I received this email. They never responded. I had to reach out two more times, through email and through their website before anyone responded to me. I again re-sent photos of my device, in high-quality with my device powered-on. I would not have attempted to trade in a damaged phone, because I would have gotten the amount I accepted, nor would I be able to provide photos of the device in working condition if the device was damaged. In the box they sent my device back to me even states "working." I think they're playing games, They don't want to pay customers the agreed upon amount, and are attempting to circumvent that with bogus claims and excuses, or frustrating customers so they will accept a cheaper offer. It's clear-cut corruption.

Hello ***********. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review of your ******** trade-in experience. Our obligation to customers and ******** is to provide shipping materials and confirm we received the phone the customer selected to trade in since customers receive the trade-in value as a discount before they send us their phone. In your case, we received a signal from ******** to return your trade-in phone because it was canceled. We do not have any insight into any details as to why this occurred, as we have to abide by the terms of the program. We are working with ******** on why this happened and to provide an answer to you. I think it's best to understand that this was not anything personal towards you, only that we were notified to return your phone because it was canceled.

Phobio has been the worst experience for my trade in. Packaged the phone up and sent will all instructions through ***. The website never updated when they received my phone, so therefore ******** assumed I never sent it in. Contacted Phobio (complete lack of contact details, not even a phone number) and they said *** lost my phone. Tried contacting them two more times and now all I get is that it is ********'s problem now when then own the service. I can only assume this shady service has my old phone and they sold for a profit without giving my trade in value.

Hello ******. Unfortunately, we did not receive your phone, so we could not confirm with ******** that it had been received. If anything happens to be lost in transit, we can open a claim with them, as all shipping is insured. We no longer offer phone support as we see more of a benefit for both parties to have written documentation for their records, especially in cases such as this. With ********'s trade-in program, you receive the trade-in credit upfront, not afterward. We're sorry your trade did not work out as we both had hoped, as we are at a loss as well.

We recently traded in a bunch of laptops from our main and remote offices, and honestly I was dreading the logistics of it all. But Phobio made it super easy. They gave us a quote and stuck to it - which was a huge relief. They arranged shipments from our seven different remote offices making it easy for everyone. We got exactly what we were quoted, no surprises, and the whole transaction was handled really professionally.Ive got to give a special shoutout to ********** made sure the process was smooth and stress-free for us.

******** uses Phobio for their trade in program. The ******** site let me set up the trade for a miniscule $5 for each of the two phones I was trading in. Had problems with shipping of boxes by Phobio but I finally got them and sent the phones. After receiving the equipment, Phobio informs me that my model is not eligible for a trade in and the value is ZERO. So even after ******** let me set it up, Phobio got my phones and gave me back ZERO. I could get more donating them to charity causes. I emailed their support and no one was interested in the least with helping me. Don't use this company. Donate your old phones to charitable causes. Someone will get use from the phone, you will get some value, and Phobio won't be able to steal your phone for no trade value.

Hi ***! We hate that youve had a horrible trade-in experience. We can totally understand your concerns. When a customer selects a model for trade-in and they send in a model that is ineligible, it will result in a $0 revision. Motorolas site requires all customers to select their trade-in phone to receive a discount for their order with the understanding that model will be sent in. Unfortunately, we had to deliver the bad news that your model could not be accepted. We know this makes us seem like the bad guys. No one wants to hear bad news after going through a process expecting everything to work out as intended. Luckily, if this happens, customers can request to have their phone returned at no cost. We do not keep them unless told to do so by the customer. Even though the incorrect model was selected, it highlights the importance of how the program works and its imperative to make sure youre choosing your correct model. We appreciate your continued feedback to spread awareness of your trade-in experience so others are aware of how to avoid this outcome.

************* Got the original quote for my device and they sent the shopping kit to the wrong address. By the time I got my replacement kit, a month had passed. They did NOT change the "due" date even though the error wasn't mine. They reduced my original quote from $240 and now want to give me only $30, for an iPad in PERFECT condition. Nice scam they have going- give a fake quote, get the device, rip off the customer the re-sell the device.

Hello *****. We're sorry your trade did not work out as expected. Your trade was created on 4/8 and your trade quote would expire on 4/29. We shipped the shipping kit to the address you used to create your trade-in. After contacting us on 4/18, you confirmed that the address was entered incorrectly. As you may understand, we will not know this unless we are contacted. A new shipping kit was delivered in five business days on 5/1 after you provided the correct address on 4/24. You contacted us again on 5/13 inquiring about the status, saying you dropped it off for shipping weeks before. *** tracking showed it was dropped off with them on 6/4. At that time, we explained that the trade had already expired, but we can still accept your trade, but the value may not be the same. Upon receiving your trade for inspection, we found display issues, which resulted in a lower value. Luckily, with our trade-in program, you can decline the new offer to have your device shipped back at no cost, which is what you selected to do. If we receive your device within the ****** trade quote period and it matches that your device is in good working condition, we will pay the amount originally quoted. Unfortunately, this did not happen in your case.

Shady company was offered $240 for my under 1 year old OnePlus 10pro. Phone was in perfect condition. Always in a case. Phone bought directly from OnePlus. After I sent phone in I received a laughable re-quote. They stated there was damage on the display which there wasn't. The phone was still under the 1 year warranty. If there was anything wrong with the phone I could have sent it in to OnePlus for free for repair or free replacement. They only offered $80. It's Oneplus' loss since I have emailed them i will never buy a phone from them again...

****************, We're sorry you are unhappy with the final trade-in value for your phone. Unfortunately, your phone showed significant screen burn-in, so we could not offer the original amount offered by OnePlus. Whenever a customer does not want to accept the revised quote, we can ship their device back to them at no cost. In your case, since accepting the revised quote, your phone can no longer be returned, and you will receive your payment. We wish you the best *****!

I purchased a new device from ******** Mobility LLC., (motorola.com) and I used their electronics device trade-in program (provided by Phobio, LLC) to reduce the final cost of my new device. I was offered $100.00 USD for the trade in of my old device and upon receipt of my my old device, ****************, sent me an e-mail stating that my offer was declined and that my old device was being returned to me.After reading reviews from other consumers, I suspected that my device was damaged in transit and/or by Phobio, LLC. However, upon receipt of my returned old device and with the exception of some dirt and smudges and the adhesive from an affixed sticker, it was in the same condition as I had sent it to them. I messaged them (Phobio, LLC) in regard to my offer being rejected and I received no response. On that day and after performing a simple investigation, I discovered that the trade-in value of my old device had dropped to $35.00 USD.I reached out to ******** Mobility LLC, in regard to this matter and informed them of my discovery and they had no answer but to provide me with a return shipping label for my new device that I had purchased from their website. Needless to say, but that the failure to honor offers made to consumers is clearly a bad business practice and I strongly recommend that any other consumer refrain from doing business with this company, Phobio, LLC.
