The experience with this company has been profoundly disappointing and wholly unsatisfactory. Initially enticed by the prospect of comprehensive assistance encompassing various technical tasks, I was met with a series of regrettable incidents that have tarnished any semblance of trust or confidence in their services.Of particular concern was the inclusion of a scheduled "membership" service, which purportedly entailed a comprehensive house and IT assessment. However, this promise was nothing more than a hollow gesture, as the appointment was canceled without rescheduling, leaving me with a sense of frustration and disillusionment.Furthermore, the repeated occurrences of service providers abandoning their assigned tasks further underscore the pervasive lack of professionalism and reliability within this organization. One egregious instance involved a charge for two hours of labor for a lock switch, a task that not only remained incomplete but also resulted in the damage to the door frame, a consequence of the technician's ineptitude. Despite assurances to the contrary, the company proceeded to levy the charge, compounding the issue with disregard for accountability or rectification. In light of these egregious missteps and breaches of trust, I am left with no recourse but to demand immediate action. I unequivocally request the cancellation of my membership and a full refund thereof. Additionally, the restitution of the unjustly charged two hours for the incomplete service is non-negotiable.It is my sincere hope that this matter will be resolved expediently and amicably. However, should the company fail to address these grievances satisfactorily, I am prepared to escalate this matter through alternative avenues, including recourse with my credit card company. My credit card is prepared to fully refund - they want me to try to resolve directly first. Will updateReview fromJim F

Xfinity told me to call Hello tech to install my ring bell on my door and also mount an indoor camera inside my living room on the wall. The tech ****** showed up 3 hours late and didnt look professional. I noticed He had no tools with him. He walked in said I cant intstall this kind of doorbell ring camera and sat my living room camera on the counter plugged it in and left. The day before I was texted messaged as to where I wanted the indoor camera and took pictures of where I wanted it on the wall. He took no action to install this indoor camera and stated lets just leave it on the counter. This gentleman made me feel uncomfortable as to his appearance. He hadnt installed anything and claimed Ill just charge you for plugging in the camera to the wall which I could have done myself. I was told by this company before the worker came out that my credit card would not be charged till the job was done yet I was charged $142 before he even arrived then he had me sign a tablet he had for $89 for plugging in a camera to the outlet which any 2 yr old could of done. My credit card was charged $142 for nothing being installed. I called customer service and only one guy answers everytime says same thing to me ,well he came out there so we charged you for his time even though he didnt do anything is what Im told every time I call. This company is a rip off and in should leave ok for a new contractor for there home security installations.Review fromJay i

HELLOTECH = HELLOSCAM! BEWARE! The customer must cancel an appointment at least 3 hours ahead but it is OK for them to cancel <30 minutes before. As an independent contractor, I had to take a day off without pay for this. I now see they have charged my credit card already when they said they would not until job complete! They are also charging $4.99/ month for some membership fee that was not clearly communicated ahead of time. DO NOT USE HELLOTECH!Review fromKeith R

HelloTech technician ******* informed me that I owed him $250 after helping me remove my old ** from the existing wall mount. He mentioned this "dismount fee" only after assisting with the ** removal. I did not request a "dismount" service. I initially paid $99 to Target, which hires out HelloTech as a third-party, for their assistance in transferring the old bracket to my new ** and lifting it onto the existing wall mount. Therefore, there was no need for a new wall mount installation. Despite this, ******* insisted on the $250 charge. Feeling like I was being coerced or defrauded, I asked him to leave my premises. My lawyer explained to me that this practice falls under the category of "unsolicited goods and services," which is illegal, as it involves forcing a customer to pay for an unrequested service. What makes this situation even more concerning is that a HelloTech customer service supervisor named ***** informed me that ******* had been with HelloTech for over a year, implying that he was well aware that helping me remove the ** from the wall mount would result in additional charges. However, he failed to disclose this until after the ** was lifted, which I find underhanded and deceitful.Suspecting fraudulent business practices, I asked ******* to leave my house. As a result, my two **s are still leaning against my couch, with screws scattered around, rendering the room unusable. I have been in contact with HelloTech's customer service representatives for four days now, and they have yet to fulfill the service they initially agreed to provide me.Review fromDonna C

I gave the company two stars because it was redeemed by a caring customer service manager - ************** - and a conscientious technician - *****. Other than that, I caution anyone using this service to check and double check how they submit online orders and their credit card/debit transaction records. I inadvertently signed up for a monthly membership, which would have cost $4.99 a month, because the website, which I was using from a mobile device, defaults you to selecting a box that opts into this membership. It's a sneaky tactic that a few political campaigns have been sanctioned for through civil litigation. Another terrible aspect of HelloTech's service is a lack of follow up and communication through the corporate scheduling system. The only reason I knew the technician was on his way was because he reached out to me. It struck me that I had not received a single email or text from the company confirming the date and time of my scheduled service! I only received a text asking for pics of the ** and hanging site. Another issue: random authorization charges and no transaction confirmation email upon paying for service. This is almost unheard of these days. I get a confirmation of my payment when I order a salad! Overall, very disappointed with Hellotech and would not recommend this service until they improve their processes with the same energy they put into their DTC marketing and corporate partnerships. I now realize that the reason the service and communication was so much better the first time I used Hellotech was because HelloTech had used a subcontractor to fulfil my service request. As for the actual service, my technician ***** went above and beyond to provide quick and quality workmanship. He even cleaned up after himself! The customer service manager I spoke to was so concerned about my issue that she issued the membership reversal on the spot and drafted emails for me to retain as documentation. Spare yourself and find a licensed technician for less $$!Review fromkristen s

We contacted company to do 70" wall mount and in cord concealment. We picked days/times were specific about appointment no later than 3pm. A technician was assigned to our job for 12/20 3pm. At 2:45pm on 12/20 we get email he is "late" and can track him. Per link technician in another state and 2 hours commute to us. We called HelloTech and they said they can't reach installer. We escalated by 3:30 technician not even on way? Eventually technician called us said he was leaving and " had 2 drive", making it 5pm. He did not have the mount or any equipment to do job so had to stop for that. He was unable to get the outlet he drilled properly installed, did not have box for outlet (so we allowed him to take one of ours out of another outlet which now isn't functioning). He advised us to be an extension for the outlet as he couldn't get other outlet plug to work (only bottom one for tv). 12/21/23 we got outlet extension only to realize the entire TV had to be taken off the mount to get to outlet. Then the entire outlet he drilled was not secure to the wall no screws, fell right out of wall. The outlet immediately sparked tv went dead. We called company furious now! We were given yesterday what they say "maximum 10% discount for technician being late" but now we have no in-cord concealment that we paid for, no functioning outlet that technician drilled in our wall! This is a massive safety issue! We paid for a service and should of had that service completed properly and without any hazard OR EXTRA purchases to be made for us. We should not have had to purchase additional outlet extenders or now have to get an electrician out here for our outlet. We have no TV now and an unsecure outlet! From reading all the other complaints on here it seems this company truly cuts corners, is quick to make promises and then cannot fulfill. Still awaiting a call back! We want full refund as now we need electrician and new TV.
