There's no way I'd go without Malwarebytes. It's saved my computer several times.

I have been using Malwarebytes Antimalware for over 10 years and it is excellent software. Make sure to ****** it and check other review sites because these reviews seem suspect. I have found MBAM to be one of the best anti-malware and anti-virus apps out there, it has far surpassed many others in catching the malware quickly when other apps have said the ** is free of malware. Don't trust everything you read here because they may have been hacked by a fake Malwarebytes imposter.

Unfortunately, there is not a zero or negative number for my review, so I had to give them a 1. I have used Malwarebytes for quite a few years not knowing what a kind of criminals I was dealing with. I hope the computing world finds out what a shady organization this is. Long story short, one of my computers died, which I replaced. Malwarebytes would not accept my key code after I downloaded the freeware version and tried to enter the key code to upgrade to the professional software. My annual subscription just renewed in January 2023, so I had 10 months remaining. Since they have no customer service number, I engaged with their online ***** system. I received a telephone call from an alleged customer service agent in which the gentleman asked me to download a program called AnyDesk so the "thief" could access my **. Long story short, they insisted that I log into my bank account from the ** that they had just accessed. I argued with them about it and suspected that something ***** was going on. The moment I logged into my bank account, the hacking began. Needless to say, I had to close my bank accounts affiliated with the credit card I had used to pay Thiefwarebytes. I received an email from my bank after the hack regarding an access code to verify my email to use Zelle. The thieves didn't waste any time preparing for the bank robbery. This is a CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION that needs to be prosecuted accordingly. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I was not dealing with an imposter company as they had my correct last four digits of my credit card number. The thief hung up on me when he realized that I knew exactly what had just happened. Needless to say, Malwarebytes has disabled the function on my other **, so don't believe the "damage control" person who will try to blame a fake website for the heist.

Malwarebytes sent renewal notice with the wrong sales tax rate. Upon contacting them twice (which is very difficult) I get answer that because it was that way last year they are doing nothing. Maybe I didn't catch the error last year, but sense when does two wrongs make a right. I live in a State with a sales tax rate of 6.5%, County sales tax of 1%. making the total tax I should pay 7.5%. I am being charged 8.5% on my invoice. Probable the extra 1% was aded for city tax for local city. But I do not live inside that city and should not pay that tax. I wish Malewarebytes would correct their tax collection software.

    Hello, Richard.

The company mentioned in your review is not affiliated with Malwarebytes. You may have been contacted by a tech support scammer. Unfortunately, it is not an uncommon practice of these entities to impersonate existing cybersecurity/technology businesses in order to persuade potential users to sign up for their services. For more details on this you may check out this article from our blog: https://www.malwarebytes.com/blog/tech-support-scams.

Malwarebytes does not offer tech support services - we sell cybersecurity software that can be installed on various operating systems. We do not sell any lifetime licenses or additional services such as computer optimization.

The ticket you have opened on Nov. 24th with our support team (no. XXXXXXX) has been attended to yesterday, Nov 29th, and also transferred to our Malware Removal Specialist team who will be able to guide into checking whether these bad actors have installed any malicious software on your device. Please check your Gmail.com account for the next steps.

We also recommend changing your card number and checking your bank statement for any other unwanted charges.

    Sincerely,
    The Malwarebytes Support Team

I have used Malwarebytes free for quite a while. To be honest, I am not sure if it is really making any difference at all. They typically say 'no threats', even though my computer might be acting wonky and I feel there is something going on. But, that is not the concern at present. Last year, around this time, they offered me a one year subscription at a nice, fair price of around $13/year. I specifically said 'no' to auto renewal, as I don't like auto renewal of anything. And, this particular is especially bad as I am a disabled senior and had a bad year Cardiac wise. Somehow, thankfully, I noticed a hold in my bank account for $48, from **********************. I immediately searched my e-mail box, for any message from Malwarebytes and noticed one that said they put a hold on 10/31/22, for my upcoming renewal date of 11/2/22. Right away, I went to the site and cancelled the subscription and as well I submitted a 'ticket' for refund and resolution of the matter. At the time, I noticed that auto renewal was activated, 'though I know that I did not to do that. I immediately, as well, canceled the auto renewal. Since then I have visited the site several times and each time the auto renewal has been turned back on! All of the above is enough for me to feel this c9ompany deserves a bad review. But, to add to all of that, they are totally unavailable for me to discuss the matter. There phone system has a system for pushing certain numbers to get to where you want to be. But, then, when I got to the right place, 'home customer support', I am told that there is no one available. I have tried calling at all different times of day. As well, no one has responded by e-mail to my complaint, except to say that they have received my 'ticket'. Just now, I submitted another ticket to them. I am left with the need to go to my bank and submit a formal dispute. Something I really don't have the energy for. I am still unwell, but I need every ***** right now. This company fails miserably!

Did not protect my new PC from a virus. Cost me to hire someone to clean up my new computer. Tried repeatedly to make contact with them but all I get are replies that say (They NEVER CONTACT ME):

    Hello,
Thank you for submitting your support request!
This is an automated email just to let you know we received your request and created ticket ******* for you.
A support agent will respond to assist you with your ticket.
Thank you for joining ** in our mission to ensure a malware-free existence for everyone.

Also have billing errors but again no response. Called their phone number: XXX-XXX-XXXX (Can't leave that number here), nothing more than a recorded message, still no way to contact them.
