Udemy is refusing to refund my purchase even though Udemy has a 30-day money back guarantee and I requested the refund the same day of the purchase.Initial Complaint

Udemy has a 30-day money back guarantee for purchases. This money back guarantee is stated on its website. When I purchased one of their classes and then asked for a refund the same day because the class was sub-standard, Udemy denied me a refund. At that point, I opened a dispute against Udemy through PayPal. ************************* of Udemy student support emailed me on 6/7/2023 stating that, "As you are still within 30 days from the date of purchase, we can issue you a full refund, and help you find another course that meets your expectations." However, on 6/8/2023, ****** emailed me saying that Udemy would not process my refund unless I closed my dispute with PayPal. The reason why I notified PayPal is because Udemy had refused to give me a refund--despite what Udemy's terms of service said. It was only after PayPal got involved that Udemy claims they will give me a refund, but they are demanding I close my dispute with PayPal first. I told Udemy I will close my dispute with PayPal after they issue my refund, not before.I have attached a copy of my correspondence with ************************* of Udemy.I have also attached a copy of my receipt of the disputed purchase that Udemy is refusing to refund me.Initial Complaint

My daughter registered for trial version and upon completing the trial period, Udemy charged $200 to my credit card without letting us know. We tried reaching the customer support and they were not ready to refund the amount.Initial Complaint

On May 12th, 2023 I purchased 3 courses from the same instructor. The instructor lied about files being available and did not answer any questions that I posted after 12 days!Udemy claims that I watched "too much" video to be elgible for a refund. Udemy has cloaked their terms of service and refund policy in an unfair manner well hidden with legal jargon to trap and victimize the student into believeing they have actual rights. Purchased a class, I never received it in my account. Theres a charge on my bank account. Ive checked on my apple account and the charge went through as well. *** contacted them and they keep asking for proof that I purchased this $14.99 course and Ive provided it but they keep asking the same questions without resolving the issue. I registered with Udemy only TWO days ago (09/10/2023), I successfully paid for two Excel courses and began the courses with ease initially. Yesterday I opened up my laptop to log into Udemy and continue my course only to find that my Account has been SUSPENDED. I did not receive even ONE notification from Udemy as to why my account has been suspended.The only automated emails I have been getting from Udemy are to change my password, I have done this MULTIPLE times now and my account IS STILL SUSPENDED or another random error message comes up that my password is not usable, which is stupid because it's a strong password abiding by Udemy's secure password policy.There is literally NO customer support from **********************!!!!!!!!!!! They only have automated customer service options to email policy@********************** and this is NOT HELPFUL IN ANY WAY. I am getting the same email back saying to change my password!!!!!! I have a strong password so the password is not the issue.I literally just started a new job, and they paid for me to do this course, and now I can't even do it and the money the company invested in me IS GONE!!!!!!!!This is the most despicable experience I have had and I chose Udemy because I read good reviews and trusted them. I have sent so many emails and all of their emails back are automated and not helpful in any way. I am close to tears at this point.Initial Complaint

date of Transaction 4/9/2023 I find it disturbing that you pay for a course the *** 35 hour video started well until it got to sldie 5,6,7.....and is not working and you cannot get a live person/chat/emaiI or otherwise for support. To give someone a help center with canned instructions is not professional and certainly does not provide good customer service at all. This one size fits all approach and company's hiding behind these self service platforms is not right. How about we hide behind the same thing and not pay for the course or take the money back. This is quite frustrating for me and a waste of my time and money. Why do I need to have a ******** account to contact someone for help. I did not pay a community of people I paid UDEMY and I don't want ******** I want help period. I tried to get a credit to my credit card refunding 3 classes that I was unable to access and could not print our required information. I submitted my issues with the classes, heard nothing back and have not received my refund as they claimed I would. There is no way to leave a voice mail or contact anyone at Udemy. I am so frustrated and upset with them and want others to know not to use this online class system. Thank you!!
