godaddy was actively advertising $3.99 domain names, the price was found on their website and ****** search, and after the domain was added to the cart price went to $11.99. I spent an hour on the phone and sent screenshots of the price and they refused to honor the advertised price.

Godaddy is charged me for web hosting services that I never used for a domain that I do not own. They claim that because the charge was more than 30 days ago, they cannot refund it. Do not work with this comapny.

GoDaddy obtained the domain register company I had 4 domains with. 3 were personal and virtually no traffic. 1 was a game's fan site, that generated 1-2 thousand hits per month. when my first billing cycle came up, they doubled my bill. I text with their support 40 days before it was due. they said they would fix it and I would get a corrected bill. a few days later I got a new bill, but for the same amount. again I text, and then called support and again they said they would fix it. but I received the same erroneous amount, double what I owed for renewal. by now we were about a week from the renewal date of my domains. I was worried, but it is customary that a register company hold a domain up to 30 days after a renewal date to cover errors. finally, I got through to support again , One day after the due date , and the GoDaddy representative said they saw the issue and if I would pay "X" amount all three domains would be renewed. I said there are four. he told me one was already sold. My Fan Site domain was sold. all the others were renewed. the very next day I started receiving calls and emails from a domain scalper. for a fee they would see about getting my domain back. I researched and found the owners of the scalping company were the same owners of GoDaddy. I let them keep the domain and moved mine to another. I also moved all my domains to another company.

Subject: Unethical Conduct Alert: GoDaddy.com's Deceptive Practices I am deeply dismayed by my recent encounter with GoDaddy.com and feel compelled to share my unsettling experience. My hopes of securing a domain name were shattered by the company's questionable business practices. On a recent date, I visited GoDaddy.com to search for an available domain. Finding one that suited my needs, I added it to my cart for later consideration. The next day, to my surprise, the domain had vanished from my cart, only to reappear as part of GoDaddy.com's inventory at an inflated price. This blatant manipulation of customer trust and apparent domain hoarding raises serious ethical concerns.I hold ethical business practices in high regard and this incident has shaken my faith in GoDaddy.com. As a concerned consumer, I am even contemplating joining a potential class action suit against the company due to these troubling actions.I urge the Better Business Bureau to investigate GoDaddy.com's practices and advocate for transparency in domain availability and pricing. Consumer trust is paramount, and companies should be held accountable for maintaining ethical standards. In conclusion, GoDaddy.com's actions are deeply disappointing, revealing a lack of integrity. I sincerely hope this matter receives the attention it deserves and that GoDaddy.com reevaluates its practices moving forward.Sincerely,******************************* Only did 1 star because 0 wasn't an option.

We thank you for sharing your candid feedback. GoDaddy does not and has never participated in domain name "front-running" the act of registering a domain name after a registration search is done in an attempt to profit from the domain. As domains are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, we encourage our customers to purchase any available domains you desire at the time they show as available for registration. You can confirm the date that a domain name was registered by viewing its Creation Date at *************************** We welcome the opportunity to connect with you in the hopes of resolving any outstanding concerns and can be reached at ************************************************

I was charged on an auto renewal for a domain name that I know longer wanted. GoDaddy has a 5-day cancellation policy, although their customer service told me it was 30 days. On day 3 I attempted to cancel but GoDaddy said that they needed additional information, and I had to go through a different GoDaddy process to retrieve it. When I received that information (day 12) I was out of the 5-day cancellation policy, and they would not refund me, even though I tried initiating the refund on day 3, and it was GoDaddy that held up the process.

I have been a GoDaddy customer for 20 years. Recently I noticed that they billed me for an email account that isn't even mine and I can't even access or use. I have probably 15 domains on GoDaddy and multiple email accounts I pay for. I didnt notice this one erroneous account until they said my credit card was expired and my email account would not renew for one of my business. This was not true the credit card expires in Dec and its August. I asked them to refund or give me an account credit for the email account that is not mine and had a domain address I don't even own and its not in my account either!!! I ask for a $96 credit to my account for future use which is what I was charged. To discuss this they would only communicate via text despite my asking them several times to call me. I asked for a supervisor and they didn't get one. This conversation started at 12 and ended at 7pm. It it is absolutely ridiculous that I have to talk to somebody via text wait for them to respond type my answer stay by my phone and wait for a response. This conversation took all day! Their customer service is so poor and it used to be exceptional I will never use them again in fact I am looking for a new servicer and going to transfer all of my accounts to another provider. What they did is credit card fraud and card theft! Charging me for an email account on a domain I don't own that is in someone else's account. Their support is outsourced to another country. They use to employe people in the ***. I will look for a company based in ******* employing people in *******. I am so over talking to *************** although they are extremely polite. Or ***** who can be extremely rude especially to women. It will take me months to transfer all my domains as they expire but I am going to do it and they will loves the money I pay them every month for their overpriced products. I stayed with them out of customer loyalty but they don't have the same respect for long term clients!!!
