** * ***** **** **** **** *** ***** * ****** I signed up for the same contract I have had with them for a dozen years, paying a tab on a new phone. Two months ago, my 40 GB was throttled at 2 GB. Then, I received notice that I had 3 months on my tab and could either pay $940 to buy the phone or upgrade. I called them and they said I could actually return the phone and not pay the $940. Since I had a new phone of my own, I opted to return the phone. When I went to this location to return the phone, the attendant asked to inspect it. He asked if there was a screen protector. I said "No." He then proceeded to peel at the corners of the screen anyway and then handed it back to me and said it was damaged so he could not accept it but I could get it repaired first and then return it. The repair shops said they could not fix that sort of damage. I returned to this shop and told them. Now the attendant said there was nothing he could do unless I upgrade. They billed me the $940 + the remainder of the tab + tax. I immediately switched ** ***** ****** ** * ***** **** ***** **** **** **** *** ***** * ****** The only way to resolve this would be to accept the phone (that they damaged) back and refund my $1170.12.

Even tho i arranged to pay them and followed through they did what i got told a hard suspension when they remove the mytab from the cell phone. so i talked to them again was told as soon as i made the $163 payment which i did, within 7days they would reattach it and the $1100 bill would go away. then 3days later got a text saying my mytab issue was resolved so i logged into there app and seen now i had a $1700 bill. Good Day, As per our Terms of Service, once a device balance is billed out, a customer would be responsible for the billed out MyTAB and/or TradeUp Return balances. We will in extreme circumstance, as is your situation, consider making an exception, however, rebuilds are subject to current restrictions for specific devices. In this case, your device is no longer eligible for the TradeUp program and this amount cannot be included in the rebuild. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. Regards, Freedom Mobile

We have a Canada-USA-Mexico plan. We went to Mexico for 2 weeks-Jan. into Feb. 2025. We were in Cancun and Playa del Carmen. We discovered that the only network we could connect to was ****, an American not Mexican network. **** is so spotty in this area that most of the time we couldn't use our phones. When we returned to Canada Freedom tried to blame it on the Mexican carriers. They **** **** *** offered no compensation. I'm looking for another carrier.

I have excellent rated (***) credit score. Came back as credit check failed to which the advisor couldn't tell me why. Now even if I call and get whatever flag that might have triggered the fail cleared up, they cant do a credit check till after 6 months. Called multiple people and they say the same thing that its 'policy' very frustrating experience and I'm taking my business elsewhere.

      * ***** **** * ***** ** * **** Recently I got an offer from a different provider and want to port out my number to that service as I have been using this cell number for many years. Many of my friends, family members and customers kept this number for contact so it will be a hassle to contact every one of them to stay up to date. I initially went to Freedom looking for help in investigating why I cannot make the port out and their explanation is they never received any request from my new provider. Giving them the benefit of doubt I contact my current provider and ask if they can make the request and they assured me the request was sent but was ignored by Freedom. So I went back to Freedom and they just keep kicking me back to my new provider and cannot give me a reason for all this trouble I’m going through. For days I have been calling in waiting for hours repeating myself over and over again why I want to switch my service and that I do not want to accept their offer. Finally today I did not want to wait anymore and push them for an answer they said they cannot port out number manually when every other provider has a team to do this. They just keep lying to me that they did not receive any request and that they cannot help me I am just stuck with paying for two accounts. Worst thing when I request to cancel, they keep telling me that if I move out I cannot register back in and that I will lose the number. At this point I am sick of what’s going on and ready to forfeit the number and when I check my bank to advise them on stopping future payment the bank told me they just made a transaction when my next billing is not until the 30th.

Most companies offer a pro-rated refund if you close your account before the term ends, but not Freedom Mobile. I had a yearly plan for $150, which I prepaid in full. I found a better plan with another company. I tried to terminate on the Freedom Mobile site, but it forces you to have a ******** chat with an agent. So I had to upgrade my ******** app and then proceeded to ask for a cancellation. Someone answered my texts, but would not disclose his or her name. I asked for a prorated refund but they said their policy "does not allow" refunds for prepaid accounts ** **** *** ** ****** **** ******** ** *********. I said that many companies offer pro-rated refunds. I had 42 days remaining on my term. $150/365 = $0.41 per day, which means I have a $17.26 refund. It's not much money, I understand, but I am not using the service for 42 of the 365 days that I paid for, up front. If they are refusing to refund all customers who terminate prior to the end of their term, then they are making a lot of money for doing nothing. No data, no calls are going through their system, and yet they are holding onto my money. ***** **** ** * *** ******* **** **** ** ******** ******** ** ******** ***

In October, I purchased a new line and plan from the Freedom Mobile store at ***** Centre. There was an issue with the number I initially selected, and I was asked to choose a different number. I was told that the first number had been cancelled. Three months ago, I set up automatic payments for my phone line, and I believed the payments were being made correctly. Unfortunately, for the past three months, I had been paying for the initial unused number they had given me, because both my actual phone number and the supposedly cancelled one have the same account number. So, I was paying for nothing. I spoke with customer service, and they told me I couldn’t get a refund for the $110 I had paid unnecessarily. I was only able to get $40, which was the remaining balance of the unused number. In short, due to the inexperience of a Freedom employee, I lost $110. And Freedom does not stand by their employees' mistakes. Be cautious.

HORRIBLE customer support The basic service provided by Freedom has been decent, and their plans quite affordable. They have two MAJOR problems however: * * Their international roaming plans are a complete mess - ** daughter was stranded after landing in Spain, with no phone/text/internet at all. Even after "fixing" the problem, her phone worked but consistently failed to connect to several critical numbers, including her bank in Canada, the local *** ****** branch (her transport both ways), and me. They never fixed this in the six weeks she was there and gave no explanation. ** The customer service is ********* inadequate. The online text chat is handled entirely by ************* trainees that take 10 minutes to respond to anything, and mostly know nothing, nor have any authority to take any action. They charged two different roaming plans to one phone, leaving the other without coverage, and would only provide that coverage if I paid again. Only when I got my bill much later did I discover what they had done - they were ******** unaware of their own billing mistake. The tech support is more capable, but they take a VERY long time to reach, sometimes hours, and they never give you a number to call them directly, just your ticket number, so you have to wait all over again every time they fail to fix your problem. If this company wants to be taken seriously they HAVE to completely redesign their ****** amateurish customer support system.
