      This site appears to be a scam. Received a book that was not "as new, or "like new" according to the description of the book I contacted seller for a refund and have had no response.

      I ordered a book. They sent me the wrong one, I have no interest in that book. I contacted them and they issued a refund to my credit card, then a week later they disputed it and took back the refund voucher without further explanation. I contacted the bank, they confirmed that to all purposes, they never refunded me. I contacted Abebooks customer service, they kept insisting that they refunded me, although I made a copy of my credit card statement showing that they did not. It is very frustrating. I never had this kind of problems with Amazon! I thought that I would try to diversify and help a non-Amazon online business, but maybe I was wrong, and they might not deserve help from customers.

      It is very difficult to get any customer service at all. It is highly likely that the purchase will never arrive and there is no way to receive a refund. Abe Books blames the seller and the seller blames the shipper etc. I was refused a tracking number and the book never arrived. I am out $44 and too much time trying to get in touch with customer service.

      I returned a book, return to sender. I never received my money or the book back. What a dishonest company and should be taken off the internet. Thieves. My stars would be a negative 0 if possible.

      I placed an order with Abebooks.com on 7/25/23. After I clicked "Pay", I was informed that the book may not arrive until 8/18. (The problem is, I'm leaving the U.S. on the 13th and wanted to bring it with me as a gift for my hosts in Australia.) So I emailed Abebooks.com and asked for expedited shipping and my request was denied. Then I wanted to cancel - I was told the item had already shipped* ***** * ******* ********* It turns out, the item didn't actually ship for 5 days. Then, in 2 days, it turned up in N Vegas, where it has been sitting for 9 more days.       Bought a book on their website. Received an older edition (the book cover is different). I am requested to return the book with a traceable service so that I can get refund. It will cost me more than the book cost.

      I ordered a textbook on 05/21/2023. The shipping speed was reportedly 4-6 business days (should have received by 5/29 at the latest). The order did not even move to processing until 5/23/23. The textbook did not even ship until 5/29/23 per tracking. I received the book 6/2/23, after 10 business days. There is no way to rate the seller. Avoid if you have time constraints, like for textbooks!

      We purchased a series of hardcover books by Brandon Sanderson. Three of them came from one reseller, which sent three paperback copies instead. That's three different ISBN's, one of which was a half-book, as the paperback editions weren't large enough to fit the entire content of the hardcover. This would require having to purchase another book, the other half-book, to complete the set. The mistake was blamed on a computer error. The other book arrived in hardcover, as we ordered. We spent a few extra bucks to order the copy in "good" condition, versus new, poor, fair, etc. The book arrived with the front cover detached from the book, binding broken, pages stained from a spill(s) and missing the dustjacket. If that was a "good" copy, imagine what condition a "poor" copy would arrive in. We contacted the seller and requested a return. Two weeks later our account was credited for the price of the book and tax, but not the $5.75 shipping we were forced to pay to return the book. Through these processes, we tried to contact Abebooks' help center - we were never successful. **** **** **** ******** ***** *** ****** ******* ** ******** ******

      Ordered from this company as it was a Canadian/BC based business. Found the book I was looking for from a UK seller via the platform, at a great price. The seller had a high rating and the shipping was slated for no later than the 31st of March.(World of Books) I received confirmation of purchase but no tracking or dispatch information. The 31st came and went and I messaged the seller (as per the site instructions) to find out what was happening. I didn't hear back from them so I emailed ABE books. I did receive a response fairly fast, however, I was advised that the seller canceled the order as they didn't actually have the book in stock. They provided a standardized response about how I could contact the seller to find out why it was canceled and that orders canceled by the seller would count against their rating. A different email received shortly after, stated (ABE) they apologized for the issue and had in fact sourced another book that would be dispatched within 24 hours- Great! Two days later, I still had no follow up to this email so I sent another request. To which, I received the same cookie cutter response regarding how to contact the seller etc. I sent 6 emails asking simply for them to confirm whether or not I needed to source this item elsewhere as they still hadn't confirmed the promised replacement. Instead, I received email that the purchase had been refunded. I asked again. Same cookie cutter response. Also, the same seller (World of Books) was STILL listing this item for sale. Another 4 emails. This morning I receive an email stating they weren't able to find a replacement (lie since there are multiple on their site but they were more costly than what I paid) so my order was refunded. I understand things happen, but what I don't appreciate is when a company makes a promise to "make things right" then ghosts you, then outright lies. Guess it's back to ordering from Amazon. Absolute garbage company.
