    Absolutely incompetent. Rubbish customer service.Called several times and got left on hold for HOURS. Got transferred, got told to call Enmax and got hung up on. 2 weeks into a new apartment and they still havent removed the load limiter. Useless

    Very crappy service, they had problems in last few months and the employees have a told me once I didn't receive a bill for month half I called them asked what my billing is at so 3 times I called direct energy and they said all 3 times I didn't owe ANYTHING, they also mentioned they would be at fault and take any over charges and they pay themselves/ wave the fees now month of Jan I owe 992 and they will not help me with THEIR mistake I've never had a bill cut off or this much EVER!! Horrible horrible service!!! My opinion ZERO stars, money hungry theives

    My grandmother passed away Dec.17/2023. The house she was living in was a rental with the utilities in her name. We have been trying to cancel her services for 3 weeks now and they refuse to do it. But they did try to sell services for my house instead. Ive provided the death certificate 3 different times and nothing has been done. I would 0 out of 10 recommend this company. Every other company we dealt with was amazing and cancelled within 24 hours. We will have to get a lawyer involved to get them cancelled.     Direct Energy is the worst possible company you could choose for energy services. I dont understand how they legally can provide services to your property without your permission or notice.

    Please do not go with this company. I had a contract with them. I moved and instead of moving the services they deleted my contract, charged me the floating rate, back charged me an even higher rate 3 months. I spent over 10 hours trying to straighten it out waited for a call back after several times promised. No one cared to listen to reason and told me it was my issue.

    They are impossible to contact because the automated service seems designed to cancel the call or route customers to non-answers. The billing is nonsensical and they are untrustworthy, promising to cancel but not doing so. This company is horrible.

    Worst company ever. I got my bill paid it then the next day I get another bill triple the amount. When I phone they tell me another service provider called and got it disconnected. I did not request that. When I say I want my plan back that I never requested this. They say they cant put me back to the same plan or anything until this $541 is paid. They cant tell me who did this but wont hook me back up. I will never deal with them again! They wont even investigate and look into it. So very sad

    Would give zero if I could. I was told they'd switch me by a rep at ********* THEY DIDN'T. I trusted them. I was dumb. I paid my regular company the whole time then got a surprise bill for $300 from Direct Energy. I got no calls before. No emails (they got my email wrong). Just a sudden bill.Then they threatened me with collections so I paid out of fear. They're awful and I hope they're happy they took advantage of an autistic person. Go to literally any other comany.

    After attempting to disconnect my services (using a different company) from a property that is being demolished I received two bills from direct energy regulated services (natural gas and electricity). I contacted them to dispute and they explained that when services are cancelled they pick them up without asking or checking if it is ok just in case of renter error etc. so the property/tenants wouldnt freeze. I understood and explained that I needed them totally terminated because there were no tenants and the property was being destroyed. Having utilities connected is a danger to the contractors working there. Yet I continued to receive bills. I called several times each time I received a new bill and entered disputes and requested call backs but never received a single one. After approximately 4 months of this, finally someone told me that I had to contact the provider to have services cut off. So that was done. Although I didnt agree with them sending me bills despite being asked repeatedly to shut off the services, not receiving a single one of the call backs requested and being told that I would no longer receive bills; I paid my last two FINAL BILLS. About 5 months later I receive one more bill. I tried to dispute this and was told this was a charge from the 5 months earlier that had been sent to collections because I didnt pay it. So I spoke with a manager to explain that I had in fact paid my FINAL BILL and was told that I was correct and the charges would be removed. I asked for a call back for confirmation once again. I received another email saying that the charges were valid but no call back. This company is extremely unhelpful and will do anything to steal money from unsuspecting customers (and non-customers that are unaware that they are being signed up against their will).
