We went to The Board Store hearing good things and wanting to support a local small business. Initial interaction was great getting an appointment for our project (new front door and putting in a transom above) and quote. We got a quote and were happy. Pricey but moving headers can be. Then our person no showed us for the finalization and payment. Said he put in the wrong date. No problem. Simple mistake. Scheduled a new appointment and he again no showed us. I called the company and found out he was no longer with them. They did not know we had a project with them but were quick to get us a new consultant. When he came over to restart the project, he did have our papers and information. Strange. We decided to down size the project this time because what we originally wanted in fact could not be done. There was no room for the transom above the door. We could only replace the door. Two days later he emailed us the new quote. It was exactly the same price as the first even though we were not doing the transom! The new door would fit in the same space as the old. We asked why and were told the first quote was not done right and did not include the transom. So my husband requested a line item receipt or a break down of all the costs. He asked for this two times before getting a response two days later after his last email. According to the consultant, due to how they bill things, they could not provide us with the cost of anything. Just the total for the project as a whole. I have never heard such a thing. We started looking at prices and something seems really off with pricing. It feels like they are just trying to get rid of us because of a mistake their first employee made now leaving them with a lot of unfinished projects. So one less project. I would rather get my door at Menards ($4000 for the same exact door) and hire a contractor to put in for us. I will never go back or recommend them which is sad.

hi April - we apologize for any confusion with our quote. Miles, our owner, is taking a look at the quote that **** had submitted to you along with the corrected version that ***** had submitted. We will be in touch to let you know what changed in the quote so there is a better understanding of how the quote was corrected to make sure it worked for your home.
