11/2024 Ordered reman transmission for my 1996 ram 2500. They Sent a defective transmission to mechanic. He pulled that and returned to exchange for another one. Tristar sent and He put another one in which was also defective. They said they would send another one, mechanic said he was not taking the chance anymore of his time pulling and putting in another defective one. They said they would send money back once they got their core back. We asked for mine back and they said they couldn't guarantee my core back, which was in great shape. I got my money back for trans but cost me more to the mechanic. I got stuck with a questionable core of theirs, tons of money wasted and three months of wasted time, which I needed my truck for work. If your transmission goes, I would recommend a reputable person to rebuild, to avoid all the headaches I had, I would definitely not use Tristar, complete dissatisfaction!

Customer service is deplorable. 3 year warranty is a joke. Motor came from factory with subpar parts and incorrectly remanufactured parts that failed in a short period. Failures are always blamed on the install mechanic or owner. . Don't buy one of these engines from AutoZone or any other Auto Parts Store unless you want to spend thousands in out-of-pocket expenses to repair a "warrantied" engine. I'm saddened and disillusioned by how I was treated by Tristar and the Auto Parts Store I purchased this engine from.

Purchased a 7.4 Vortec remanufactured long block for my **** GMC k3500. Waited 5 weeks to get it. Had a very reputable shop install it. Started it and head gaskets leaking coolant externally immediately. Never even left the bay or put the hood back on. The response was wait another 4-5 weeks for a replacement engine. Returned the engine asked the warranty department about the labor to R&R a second time. Was told to provide invoices for both R&R and I would get paid. Sent the invoices and they denied any payment. Need I say more?
