    Sadly covid and not enough time kept me from ordering 3 more compasses from ********************* who in the time that I knew him taught me a lot about boats , ships , seamanship .The last three compasses would have been a Dirigo for autopilot, and two more for southern hemisphere.Sadly his partner passed away and I believe he departed shortly thereafter not sure what happened to his parrot Navarre. Upon getting back to life after ******* discovered the windows of the workshop shaded and the neighbor informed that **** had passed on.I did have Bill rebuild three compasses for ocean sailing a ******* and 2 C *****.Also he double checked and did some repair and maintenance on three sextants which I look forward to using on a Pacific journey Bill had been a Chief Engineer of the Midway Aircraft Carrier and honestly to see someone of such great value and ability in such a humble workshop such as his on Broadway in ******* was humbling to me. A ****** that we should strive to better balance our time to include the wisdom and experience of elders in our community.
