    We had Nordvind Sewer out to do a simple scope and jet on our sewer line. They discovered a blockage, and then worked all day long to try and fix it. This in and of itself is not an issue. What is an issue is that they had no discussion with us regarding any extra charges this was going to incur and just kept poking around in our basement until the whole day was used up and nothing was accomplished (we still dont even know if they scoped and jetted the line like they came out to do). They presented us with a bill for almost double what was originally quoted. But the story does not end there. They offered to use a portion of the overpayment on the final fix, and they came back with 2 numbers. Just 2 numbers for 2 different options, in a text, no explanation of what those costs covered or how much of a credit we were getting. We asked for a formal quote of those 2 options and they transferred those 2 numbers onto one sheet, zero information of what those numbers actually meant. We asked for a breakdown of what was in those costs (time material, credit, etc) so we could go get comparable bids (something THEY recommended we do), and then silence. We then went and got several other companies to come out and look at the issue. Every other company was able to diagnose the problem within minutes, stopped working and gave us a bid with a breakdown of costs. None of them had any prior knowledge of what we went through with Nordvind going in, but after we mentioned our experience, everyone had the same response: Why would you take all day to look at this, its obvious what the problem is. The moral is that if you are looking for a competent company, I would suggest you stay away from Nordvind Sewer. They talk like they care about you, and want to be taken serious as a small family company, but it seems like they dont know what they are doing and are just stabbing in the dark trying to figure it out, all of which will in the end cost you a lot of time and money.
