I want to highlight serious concerns about Eastside Tree Works LLC. This company has demonstrated highly unethical behavior, including making false statements about certain requirements and THREATENING customers. They appear to take advantage of individuals who may not have detailed knowledge of tree removal processes, including seniors. They aggressively push for payment and, if you choose not to use their services, they resort to intimidation and threats. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional, especially for a company that claims to be reputable. We have been closely monitoring their actions and are prepared to take any necessary steps if they continue to harass or threaten us. I strongly advise potential customers to be cautious and consider other companies that demonstrate honesty and professionalism.

We've used Eastside Tree Works several times, and have been beyond pleased each time. They are professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and fair. The entire company - office staff to crew - is a pleasure to work with, and we have no reason to ever hire another tree service!

We had a Cherry tree removed from our backyard. The whole process from the quote to the removal was so easy and professional. They removed the tree and stomp grinded it. Our yard looks beautiful, as if the tree was never there. Awesome service, great people!

I have never been treated so terribly by a company. I called last night and spoke to ****** who claimed she was the owner. *** apparently was not the owner. lt *** promised an arborist would come at 8:00. He did not come until 9:15. *** promised he would cut back the tree on my property. He refused to do so. *** promised I could stop picking up debris caused by the downed tree and the arborist would pick it up when he did the work on the tree. He refused and left it all for me to cart to the back of my house. I live up 40 stairs and have to hike for 1/2 mile to the recycle can at the back. of my house which was very hard for me. I am ********************************************** an estimate and and said he would. When I called to ask for ****** she claimed she hadn't said any of the things she had said. I would never use this company. I found another company which did everything she claimed her company would do and didn't. The cost was both reasonable and fair and was done the same morning the arborist from Eastside Tree appeared late and than refused to help as ****** the non-owner had claimed he would. f Avoid this company unless you like lies and incompetence..

It should be first noted that we did not perform any work for this potential customer, and were never in contract with them. We have also reviewed all of the messages and phone call transcripts to verify the below information is accurate.

We took several calls during a storm that occurred overnight (Jan 8th/9th), between 1am and 8am, from this customer. Our representative was fielding many emergency calls with trees on homes, and we spent a considerable amount of time trying to explain our process to this customer, as she was frantic and confused as to what could be done. Her tree had fallen into the neighbors yard, and we explained that, for insurance and liability purposes, her neighbor would need to contact us to take care of the majority of the tree that was on their property. She said that she and her neighbor did not get along, and that she could not communicate with them - so we (to help reassure and provide some sort of help and direction) agreed that we would at least send a project manager out as soon as we could - which was the next morning - to see how we could help and take a look at the situation. During this time, we were responding to and prioritizing emergency tree projects where trees were on homes (time sensitive to prevent further damage/water intrusion), and we made this very clear throughout the initial calls with *****. The project manager we assigned, made it out as soon as he could, after being up all night assessing tree's on homes and putting together emergency tree extraction projects... knowing that this was not a time-sensitive emergency job. This was out of courtesy and to see if we could (if nothing else) put her mind at ease and estimate a cleanup job for the portion of the tree that remained on her property.

According to the project manager who arrived, the customer wanted us to attempt to "pull the tree back onto her property" so that it could be cut up and removed. We explained that this would not be covered by her homeowners insurance, and was also not practical, economical, or reasonable given the situation. Despite the thorough explanation throughout the night, she asked if he was going to clean up the tree himself, which he said he could not and was not permitted to do - and again went over how our emergency response works. He then offered to and began putting together a storm-cleanup estimate for the portion of the tree that was on her property - which she expressed she did not want to do since we were not willing to attempt to pull the tree back onto her property for cleanup. Our estimator then had to proceed to the next emergency call he was assigned to.

Being present for all of the phone communication with this customer, it is blatantly false that our phone representative A) at any point said they were the owner, and B) promised that we would be doing any work during the estimate appointment we had set for the morning.

We, in fact, made it abundantly clear that the Arborist we sent out was there to assess and put together an estimate for any work that we could help with - as there is only so much we can understand about the situation over the phone. Our estimators/Certified Arborists arrive in small vehicles and without any tools. They are there to assess and put together an estimate for work, take pictures, and are only equipped with a laptop or tablet (no safety gear, or cleanup equipment). During a storm, and in an emergency, they would be followed by one of our tree crews with the necessary equipment; large chip trucks, chippers, bucket trucks, and all necessary small tools, once a contract is signed and we receive insurance verification. Our estimators/arborists are NOT allowed to perform any work until we have a signed agreement with the customer, and we did not and would never promise this to a potential customer. We also made it clear that, due to the nature of travel in a storm and the prior estimate appointment our project manager was running, that 8am was the estimated time of arrival - and that it could change or be longer given the unknowns in a storm.

In this case, she opted not to have us perform a storm cleanup. We did not refuse to help - she did not agree to our help. We told her that we, if she chose to contract with us for a cleanup of this downed tree, would clean up the debris... Not that our arborist would do this upon an estimate appointment for free during a storm.

This customer called and berated both of our office staff, in a very rude and explicit manner the following morning after the appointment. The unhinged nature of this call did not allow us an opportunity to help or make anything right with this customer.

We spent considerable time trying to help the best we could, despite this customer's unreasonable expectations and demands. I, the administrator at Eastside Tree Works (along with several other office personnel), was present for the calls and communication with this customer. Our phone rep did a fantastic job trying to calm down and help, to the best of our ability, as well as to set proper and thorough expectations with this customer. Our office representative has been with us fielding emergency calls for many years, and has many positive reviews regarding her personable nature, knowledge, and ability to communicate our processes to our customers - especially in difficult and confusing times when a tree falls unexpectedly. It is very surprising and unfortunate that despite all of the effort that was put forth, she was painted in such a light.

We encourage any potential customers to check out our many other reviews elsewhere online that show how many customers were happy after our emergency response. We try very hard to reassure, calm, and take the headache out of a very unnerving situation.
