    SM transports misrepresent their prices, they have multiple people contact you to confuse on processes. When asked transportation manager about practices he said had no idea about initial quote then tried to guilt trip me by threatening to fire employee. Do not book with this company.

    BEWARE! Auto transport brokers have a bad reputation ... and, for some, deservedly so. 'Zoe' of HM Transports has earned her horrible reputation. 'Zoe' extracted a $150 deposit from me to transport a 2016 Toyota Prius from Los Angeles CA to Spokane WA. Before sending the deposit, I asked for all the information, including the company's US DOT# and MC# and the drivers name ("Michael Jordan") and phone number. I even spoke with the driver about transporting my car and all seemed fine. Lo and behold, on the day of pick-up, I heard nothing from either 'Zoe' or 'Michael Jordan'. Upon finally reaching the driver, he reported that his trailer had broken down. 'Zoe' then promised to find me another driver, albeit at a higher price (nearly double the inital quote) but never did. Vanished! The US DOT listing for the company also lists a phone number that is 'no longer in service.' I expected to be dealing with some unscrupulous folks (after all, I was aware of the industry's reputation), but it didn't leave me any less furious. Can anything be done about these scammers?
