- Advertising Review:
On April 15, 2023, BBB requested for Econo Lodge Inn & Suites I-64 & US Route 13 to substantiate, or discontinue claims listed on the motel's website which read, "Free Continental Breakfast." The issue was brought to BBB's attention by a recent lodger who was told by management that their motel has not served free continental breakfast for the "last 3 years." According to BBB Code of Advertising, advertisers must be prepared to substantiate such claims or discontinue advertisement of a service that is no longer valid.
As of April 30,2023 the business has not responded to BBB’s request.

"I filed a formal complaint with Choice Hotels, the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Beach ***** *** **** ******r after my experience here in August 2023. Serious health code and fire code violations in my room, which included a bloody and semen stained mattress, rag stuffed into fire sprinkler in bathroom, black mold inside airconditioner that also had broken plastic parts, broken lamp shades on each side of the bed and desk with paint splatter all over it." ...
