      I contracted with Thompson Construction on 7/23/24 to do some work at my business location in *****, VA. I paid a 50% deposit via check that was cashed on 7/27/24. We agreed that the work would start on 8/20 and would take approximately one week. Tommy Thompson showed up on 8/20. He worked for about 2 hours removing a wall. He then asked for $500 cash to get supplies for the next day since his bank account had been "hacked" - which was provided. On 8/27 he showed up for about 30 minutes to do a little more work. He left the debris from the wall and left electrical wires exposed. After promising numerous times to return, he finally showed up on 10/7 (6 weeks later) to remove the wall debris. On 10/16, 10.17, and 10/31 (and other dates) he was supposed to show and never did. He has completely ignored me since no showing on 10/31. Now, 3 months after the project was supposed to be completed, I still have exposed electrical wire, he has done maybe 10% of of the work, and he has not responded to my messages in more than 3 weeks. Really poor effort and communication. I am not sure if his business is just a scam (although he did come to me via recommendation), but I strongly recommend all stay away from Tommy Thompson and Thompson Construction. He will take your money and not do the work. He will make promises to show up and have every excuse as to why he didn't (e.g truck broke down, trailer broke down, family member has issues, etc.). And he will continually promise "this isn't how he runs a business, give him another chance". Beware!
