They did the same thing to me also. They have been taking almost $190 a month from me since oct of 2024 . And the guy wasnt very nice on the phone. And I got a call from the state processor today telling me that I didnt get ahold of ******* and hodge on march 14th they dropped the case and if I dont call between I think it was 2pm to 3pm I was gonna be served paper and have to go to court. This is crazy but when they were taking the money out of my bank it was listed under smart connection companies. And I looked them up they have nothing to do with collection debts. So now Im gonna go to my bank file a dispute. And the guy at ******* and hodge said the were bbb credited. And I never received any paper work from them.Review fromJill G

The same thing keeps happening to me. They have left me two messages, two different people. Same info to contact, and when I do, no one answers. I have read numerous comments about this being a scam. I have no past due credits owed to anyone, so I would like to see them try to garnish wages!Review fromTashima A

1 was call by a so called collection company and some claim department saying I was going to be sued for a past date and given th number to Phillips and Hodge. Some guy name ****** picked up and was rude saying I know what this is about and no I didn't. He said I could explain it to the judge. I called county clerk and nothing is filed against me. This is a scam to collect a debt. I called my attorney and was told unless I was served do not listen to him. What a way to waist my morning!!Review fromJennifer W

I received a call 10/30/24, from ********* ****** on behalf of SC state processing unit, stating that they have a summons from ********************************************* to file a motion for wage garnishment/lien. They provided the address I reside at in ** and told me to call Phillips &Hodge to resolve the matter before they came to service me between 1pm & 3pm 10/31/24. They provided a phone ************* number vk14794-sc. I called ********* back, heard a recording stating it is nationwide courier services no one answers the calls and to call the filing party. I called Phillips &Hodge & left a voicemail asking them to call back. Today, I received calls from both ********* & *********************************************. I did not answer but did receive voicemails. The call from ********************************************* advised to call back. The call from ********* stated she was calling from CA state processing & to call ********************************************* before they serve me today. She provided a case number vk15306. Called ********************************************* back & stated that they were calling about ********* *******, but my last name was incorrect. The person who answered was **** *****. He requested the two case numbers, which I provided. I informed him that wage garnishment was not allowed in SC unless it was for state tax debt or unpaid child support. For clarity, any debt I have that is in collections was while I resided in **. I moved to ** in April 2023. However, there are no court records for any debt collection there or in SC. **** then rattled off my prior last names, one of which has not been my name since 2011. He then hung up & when I called back there was no answer. I used a different number to call, **** answered I asked where they obtained the records of different ********** stated there's was a long list of names, I'm not going to do this with you, good luck, & he hung up. No one identified the account they are calling about. ********* gave two different entities she works for when she works for nationwide courier servicesReview fromAmanda R

****! A Montgomery, AL phone number called me and left this voicemail:Yes, good afternoon. This is ***** ***** calling on behalf of Alabama State Processing Unit. The call is to notify you of a summons we received today from the attorneys office of Phillips and Hodge. They have requested to file a motion in my county for a possible wage garnishment and/or lien. Once the motion is filed, our office will send out a server with the summons to your home address and work placeThis is a scam, I dont owe anything, the website is fake, they dont even list their suite number in their address of a building with several other businesses in other suites. Dont fall for the scam! Also, they are using a name I havent gone by in 10 years!Review fromJocelyn P

This "law firm" is running a scam. I got a weird voicemail message saying that a summons has been filed and would be served to my place of employment and an old apartment in *********** and *******. I had my personal attorney review the voicemail transcript and he confirmed that it's a scam. Don't respond to these messages.Review fromPete M

I received voicemail yesterday from someone saying they are from the national processing unit and they received a summons in their office this morning from the law firm Phillips and Hodges and theyve requested to file a motion with my counties court, and when the motion is filed a process server will deliver the summons to my addressThey also told me the last four of my social and my address.I looked up that law firm, the website immediately screams fake so I did some digging. I did a WHOIS domain registration lookup, and that shows the website was also only registered in July of this year. Then I did a reverse search on the images on their website which helped me find another law firm called ****** and ****** (also website only registered in April this year) is using some of the same photos. More importantly about half of the descriptions and text on both websites are word for word identical. Also the address they each have on the websites are only 10 miles apart from each other in ********, ** and Henrico, **. Neither of them show up as a business on ****** maps or Apple Maps. They both claim (again word for word) theyve been in business ********************************************************************************* the ********** can a business be operating for 27 YEARS but only created a website a few months ago and have ZERO reviews or anything about them online. This is clearly a high level scam.Review fromJamise V

Tried to scan me out of money saying I owed money to *********** Never even heard of that business and when I said *** never had any business with the ********** he yelled at me and said yes I did, otherwise he would t be calling me. He then rattled off my name, SS# and email address (all of which were in a recent data breach). I said you could have gotten that from anywhere. He then said well you can dispute it in court and then hung up on me. No reputable law firm/collection agency would hang up on someone trying to get more information about their own WB debt. Definitely a scam and their address on their website is a vacant office building available for leaseReview fromrobin s

ZERO STARS! I got a call regarding a "supposed" debt from 2017. I agreed to make payments on this large balance that i am even unaware of and all I asked in return was for documentation for my payment plan. I was IMMEDIATELy told NO.... Excuse me? You expect me to pay a large sum of money with no paperwork or proof? All I was asking was for proof. I was threatened and cursed at and called a disgusting name. I said how do I know this is true and I;'m not being scammed. He the yelled and spoke over me (like a child) and threatened me and said "If I wanted to scam you I could. I don't need to do this. I have your ss# (read it off to me) and my dob. ** said see y ou in court and hung up
