For a while, I was doing pretty good building my credit - making payments on time and borrowing and repaying small amounts at a time. Then, all of a sudden, I saw a drop of over 200 points due to a surprise report from Aidvantage. I had been in deferral for multiple years due to disability and financial hardship, until the pandemic hit and Biden's pause on student loans apparently reset that status. It seems as if they assumed that this justified requiring regular payments again. When I didn't pay them - as per usual - they must have decided to report their error as my own. What these goons don't seem to understand is that decimating someone's credit score like that can hamper their financial prospects, which then decreases their ability to repay student loans. After contacting them, nothing was done to correct this mistake, and as a result I have had to postpone significant steps in my financial progression. Thank you for nothing, you useless reptiles.

Recertified an icr plan November 30th for a deadline of February 20th because of a backlog of recertification applications they never processed it on time now they claim I miss the deadline and have increased my payments to a standard payment plan of $1,074 per month which is way beyond my budget I'm retired now and living on Social Security and a small pension I read an article that claims that they're suspicious of the recertification processing accusing the servicer of purposefully not recertifying on time

An advocate named ******** did reach out to me and stated that my issues with recertification was an IT problem and that she would make it a priority to address it. I know there has been much confusion with the status of student loans, but I eagerly await the completion of my recertification since it has been five months since I submitted it and would like the situation rectified as soon as possible. My status for an astronomical payment has not changed since speaking to her, but I will observe it daily to see any changes.

I have had issue after issue with them. I originally had 1 loan with them. I did a teacher forgiveness loan (which I got a run around for this too) and now I have two loans with them. They said both loans have always been there but they haven't. I called in Dec 2025 talked to ****** and she said I got approved for $5000 for my teacher student loan and I was getting it all. Called in February for another reason, that I will get to in a minute, and found out I was only approved for $4456.66 and that I have to reapply for student loan forgiveness to pay off the second loan that I didn't have but now I do. I will be calling *** about this. The original reason I called was I put a payment through that was paying off the rest of my balance and it did not go through. I never got an email or letter explaining this and why it happened. They claim I had insufficient funds, not true though I had well over enough funds. Oh and before I spoke to ***** I was on the phone with **** and I asked him to transfer me to a supervisor, due to too many issues going on. I was put on hold then someone picked up, heard voices in the distance and then I was disconnected. That's when I got *****, might I add at this point I am ****** because I am tired of getting run around for months on different matters. ***** *. was very professional. She probably deserves a raise. Lastly I was told that I took off autopay, again I started taking notes after having issue after issue, nowhere in the notes does it say I asked for auto pay to be taken off. I wouldn't do that. I dont know why I was given to this company in the first place, I never signed up with them originally. I was with Mohela not Aidvantage. My loans were sold to them and I am not happy about their service since day 1. I do not recommend to anyone

Aidvantage is not a legitimate entity for federal student loans. They are corrupt and allow obviously fraudulent student loans to stay on your credit report when you are a 61 year old, a
retired Chicago Police Officer and have a bachelor's degree from 1987. They AID the criminals and try to stick legitimate, law abiding, bill paying victims with fraudulent loans.

The website is CONSTANTLY down. The service is pathetic at best -- loans take DAYS to process, amassing MORE interest in the meantime. An absolute joke.

If I could put zero stars I would. Terrible customer service and representatives will just hang up on you or put you on hold and hang up. Took them an entire summer semester to process a simple in school deferment. By the time they processed it the fall semester had started and they were again sending me delinquency notices while I was still in school. Absolute joke of a loan servicer. Loans were taken over by them against my will and now Im stuck with this awful company until the end of time.

Aidvantage updated my loan repayment and still drafted unauthorized payments from my bank institution. After needing to call and request assistance, it was agreed and advised on a recorded line by a representative of their company that they did indeed draft incorrect funds and submitted a refund. I ensured my efforts were upheld and continued to check on the status of my account and refund. Several calls later (all that were in agreeance of the situation), I was advised the request had been rejected because I still owed on the loan. Ive made several payments post the illegal draft and now theyre stating nothing can be done. I have been continuously disappointed since my loans were acquired by AidVantage and I feel this theft solidifies my frustration for the entire enterprise. Its now the point of integrity for me, and I feel confident if it has happened to me its happening to many others. AidVantage was negligent and misappropriated funds of the consumer. Its really disheartening. Im not finished dealing with this either but its the only review I intend on leaving via ******

This company has been nothing but a headache for me in an attempt to get a reaffirmation letter for loans that I somehow over-borrowed on. How does that happen?Due to this, I need a reaffirmation letter - it is filled out by me, then by my school, then sent to to my student loan servicer, who then give me a letter to give to my school. My school will only disperse my aid once they have this letter; they won't even evaluate my award letter without it.I have spoken to multiple customer service agents during this process. Initially, I was told the letter would take 5-10 days, then it became 10 business days, then I was told I could request an expedite, but not until after the 10 days had passed. The 10 days did pass - asked for an expedite. Multiple customer service were spoken to and were unhelpful and rude, some even just leaving the chat. One person even told me there was no such thing, then left the chat after I told her it was a supervisor that I had spoken to. Someone else told me they put in the request for me, but couldn't give me anything to confirm this nor asked for my info - so I think she lied. I have NEVER experienced such awful customer service.

I keep getting bills and emails and whatnot that I am unable to open due to my account not existing.
