In the fall 2020 I contracted a certified radon inspector and this firm to install a certified radon mitigation system . (The system broke in Jan 2024 and the contractor did not answer my messages. Another firm will fix it - they say it was not certified.) In Dec. 22_Feb 23 I also contracted the same firm to renovate my kitchen and bath and to convert a hall closet into a laundry area. There were numerous problems as follows: No building permits or inspections were obtained (I did not realize it at the time); the contractor's license as a master electrician expired years ago (again I was not told. There were no ground fault circuit breakers on outlets in kitchen or bathroom, exposed wires were left in the kitchen cabinets, and a 220V outlet was incorrectly installed among other wiring issues. New kitchen applicants were purchased but no warranties or receipts were provided despite my numerous requests. Moreover, the bathroom shower and laundry closet were installed incompetently. The base of the shower stall is not supported so the shower stall gives and creaks. There was no caulking around the shower stall. In the new laundry closet the washer and dryer were dangerously and improperly secured. On first use, the dryer crashed through the closet door and damaged a doorknob on the opposite side of the hall. Mr. Vaugh afterwards agreed to restore the laundry area to a hall closet and to other repairs but he never returned after the dryer crash. The needed repairs included damaged sheetrock and woodwork, a punctured heating duct, and a hole that the crew accidentally drilled though the floor of my bedroom. The flooring in the kitchen and bath have progressively developed large gaps between the boards. I am extremely disappointed in a firm that I once trusted, My home was left with damage and expensive repairs. In my opinion, their misrepresentation and negligence regarding the radon mitigation system should be illegal.
