  I chose this business approximately 3 years ago to service my furnace and gas fireplace and replace my water heater because it was veteran-founded and family-owned, and until today, I paid a monthly "membership" fee. On 16 Jan 2025, a service technician from Ouellette Heating and Air (OHA Home Service) diagnosed my furnace problem (functioning but no actual heat), as a bad condensate pump. He quoted me a price of $535 (!!) to replace it. OUTRAGEOUS and USURIOUS. I declined. I paid the $95 service call fee, purchased a new pump for $55, and connected it myself in 10 ********** heat was restored until the next day when I found the condensate pump full of water again. As it turned out, neither the new nor older pump, installed in Feb 2023 by OHA Home Service, was bad. The older pump had a bad check valve (a $6 fix), which I replaced, and now the original condensate pump is functioning perfectly. I tested both pumps to ensure they were working independently of their electrical connection to the furnace. The actual problem was the condensate line, not the pump. The exterior portion of the drain line was frozen due to the abnormally cold weather. Since the line has thawed, I have not had any additional heating problems. The point of this review is that the outrageous price quoted, aka price gouging, to replace the condensate pump made me wonder how many times in the past I paid usurious prices for other work performed by OHA Home Service. I have canceled my service membership and will look elsewhere for HVAC and plumbing services. Caveat Emptor!

  I contacted OHA Home Services on 11/24/24 at 0558 hours because my furnace was making crazy noises and no heat was blowing in my downstairs. I was told that a technician would be to my home between ********* hrs and that I would receive an email and text message confirmation. I called back at 0822 to get an ETA for a technician and to ask about the confirmation that I never received. They told me they would take care of it. I called again at ************************************************* text from them and I had not received a phone call from a technician. I called again at 1004. The line went dead. I called back. The line went dead again. No technician ever showed up, nor did I receive an email or text message from this company. Their customer ********************** is poor. Each person I spoke to this morning promised to handle the situation and failed to do so. I ended up calling another company to service my home. I do not recommend this company and I will never try to give them my business again. Horrible experience and if I could give negative stars, I would.

  The people who work at ***, are, not only professional, efficient, prompt and knowledgeable they are also very kind. I could not be serviced for several days after my initial quote, so, they sent over a technician to set up a portable conditioner immediately. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard at ***, and to their supervisors and managers who set such a high standard.

  They were great when I needed them to fix my AC in a pinch on a holiday weekend. However, they quoted me $74,000 to replace the **** system in my **** sq ft house. That is blatant price gouging. I am a younger homeowner and I think they were trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge and experience. I got several other quotes for the same service and not one went over $10,000. Additionally, the salesman was rather pushy and wanted me to sign something the same day he gave me that ridiculous quote. He called to follow up a few days later and pushed back when I objected to his price. I would steer clear of this business.
