  I have been a paying customer with Harbor View Self Storage since 2009, almost 15 years. I have paid this company over $15,500 over the course of the close to 15 years and contents of my storage unit were removed in November of 2022. I spoke with staff on several occasions last November to no avail. I kept getting the run around and false information (see details below): -My emergency contact was notified less than 24 hours prior to removal of contents -All storage units that are in danger of being closed/lost must be advertised as being auctioned in advance -There must be an auctioneer to oversee the process (to protect consumers), there was NO auctioneer. I was given the name of an auctioneer who supposedly oversaw the process. However, I learned that there was no auction at all. -My contents were permitted to be removed by staff without a formal auction process -My emergency contact (father) was called less than 24 hours prior to the auction (voicemail left) Under consumer law, not following the auctioning process and protocol and removing contents equates to theft. No storage company staff members can simply take things without following the process. ***There is camera footage that can show the actual removal. I have purchased properties through the auction process since 1999. No one can simply take possession of another's belongings (including a house, storage contents, cars, etc.) without a formal auction process. Doing so is illegal and considered theft.
