On 8/17/2021 I purchased a set of Oticon More 1 hearing aids from International Audiology. They pressured me into a four year closed end lease at monthly payments of $187 that would end up costing me $8,976. At the end of the four years, after paying that huge amount, I must return the aids and dont even own them! If I return them before the four years are up, I still owe the full amount! I am 73 years old and feel that this was elder abuse! They made it appear that this was the only way I could finance the normally priced hearing aids of $5,500! Sincerely, ***********************

I purchased hearing aids 3 years ago from their Richfield office. I moved to the St. George area and went in for a yearly exam at the St George office. My hearing aids are less than 3 years old and I paid over $7,500 for them. In the purchase sales pitch I was told I could get an upgrade every 4 years. I went in for my checkup & the Doctor told me my hearing had gotten worse (as it does with age) & because of new technology I would need an upgrade. Without explaining to me that I would be purchasing new hearing aids they wanted my income information. The Doctor led me to believe he was upgrading my hearings aids but not at an additional $8,000.00. My wife asked them why they wanted my income and they lady at the front desk told her to update my file. My wife told her that info was none of their business and did not feel comfortable giving them that info. Then they said well we have to keep his file up to date and it finally came out they needed that info for a new application to finance new hearing aids. The ones I have are barley 3 years old. We told them no thank wanted a second opinion. Went to a different hearing aid Doctor and he was perplexed as to why I wanted new hearing aids when these were very expensive, one of the best on the market and there was nothing wrong with the ones I purchased less than 3 years ago. He tested my hearing and went into the program for Oticon hearing aids. There was nothing wrong with them except that they needed to be adjusted up louder per Oticons suggestion after my hearing test. Intermountain Audiology was trying to scam me into a new pair of $8,000 hearing aids stating my hearing was worse when in fact all they had to do was go into the program and adjust the volume so I could hear better. The new hearing Doctor did that and I have no problem hearing now. They are scaming elderly patients. They want to sell you new hearings aids when there is nothing wrong with the ones you have. Beware of this company!
