We are a small construction company with 4 - W2 employees. We hired Paylogics in Spring of 2022 to help run our payroll and prepare checks. Our payroll is usually between $1,200-2,300 per employee and Paylogics was a cost effective company to help get our employees paid timely and have our reports filed accurately.

On 11/21/22 we noticed an ACH debit of $43,293.25 from our business checking account authorized by Paylogics. This amount is $35,000+ more than we’d typically authorize for our regular payroll.

This ACH debit was completed by Vanesa L** with Paylogics from a fraudulent email request out of California. She set up a new 1099 contractor with a direct deposit account, and sent off $43k leaving my company account significantly depleted. We didn’t receive a phone call, email, or any notification prior nor after processing the ACH.

Not only are our employees paid by check, but we don’t have any 1099 contractors. Our staff works solely out of Utah not any. Had an extra layer of protection been in place to safeguard our account, a large fraudulent transaction would have been prevented.

After establishing that the transaction was fraudulent, Paylogics proceeded to block our company from accessing our payroll account and we are unable to process payroll for our own employees. We are unable to view reports, or obtain any information, including formation for the ACH.

This ordeal has impacted not only our business, our family, and the financial security of the our employees we are unable to pay as a result of Paylogics negligence.

Devin M****, and the owner Mark W*** made it very clear that they will not take responsibility of their company's wrongdoing, they also will not provide any details on the fraudulent recipient.

We are seeking legal council after Paylogics decided not to cooperate. On behalf of the small business owners out there, we feel it necessary to shed light on this incident so others don’t go through what we are going through.
