- Additional Info:In September 2022, BBB notified Olivia Seymour Photography of concerns in consumer complaints regarding the company's marketplace practices. Specifically, BBB identified a pattern of complaints where consumers alleged that:
* Payment was made in full and/or a deposit was made (via Zelle, Venmo) to contract for photography services and Olivia Seymour failed to abide by the contract and did not show up the day of the event
* The job was subcontracted to another photographer
* Long delays in receiving their photographs if received at all
* Difficulty in contacting and/or receiving a response from Olivia Seymour; sometimes this resulted in being blocked from any communication via email, texts, calls, and social media.
BBB requested the company's voluntary cooperation in eliminating the identified pattern in consumer complaints. Olivia Seymour Photography was asked to provide a written response outlining the steps the company will implement to avoid future complaints of the same or similar nature.
As of October 7, 2022, Olivia Seymour Photography has failed to respond to BBB's inquiries.
In August 2022, BBB Serving North Central Texas started receiving an influx of consumer complaints and BBB Scam Tracker reports against Olivia Seymour Photography.
Consumer complaints allege the company takes a full payment and/or deposit via Zelle or Venmo, ranging from $300 to $800, to contract for photography services and Olivia Seymour fails to show up and quits responding to the consumer prior to the event. At times the job was subcontracted to another photographer who allege that they were never paid by Olivia Seymour for the work completed. Occasionally when Olivia Seymour would show up to the event, there were long delays in receiving their photographs, if received at all.
BBB initiated an investigation into the marketplace practices of Olivia Seymour Photography and found that this company is not registered to conduct business in Texas and a legitimate address for the owner could not be found.
This photographer was not responsive to the consumer complaints nor any of BBB's inquiries and the investigation was closed October 7, 2022.
