On May 17, 2024 BBB contacted Hemp 360 regarding advertised health claims, sales, and testimonials on its website https://help360.com. This was in request from the business after BBB's last advertising review from 2022.
Hemp 360 advertises health benefit claims including but not limited to insomnia, anti-seizure, pain relief. BBB Code of Advertising states claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy, or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.
BBB requested Hemp 360 to provide evidence from recent, reliable, and competent studies or other objective data about their specific products including any scientific findings, FDA approvals, peer-reviewed clinical studies, trials, or other objective data to substantiate the claims their products are safe for human use and the advertised health claims or discontinue the advertised claims to address BBB’s concern.
Hemp 360 also advertises customer reviews from customers expressing that CBD products have benefited their overall health. These testimonials include claims specific to the effects of CBD including claims to assist with insomnia.
BBB Code of Advertising states in general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it is not genuine and does not actually represent the current opinion of the endorser. If a consumer’s experience represented in an advertisement is not the typical experience of those using the product or service unless the advertisement clearly and conspicuously discloses what the expected results will be.
BBB requested Hemp 360 to disclose and substantiate with scientific evidence the typical result from customers’ testimonials and substantiate the testimonials advertised or discontinue the advertised claims to address BBB’s concern.
As of August 19, 2024, Hemp 360 failed to respond to BBB's requests to modify, discontinue or substantiate their advertisements.
