At the advice of our realtor we trusted Dave and Eve to guide us on our first home purchase. Despite some cracks we pointed out, Dave stated they were only esthetic and we had nothing to worry about. This was March 30th, 2023. We closed on May 8th.
By June all of the cracks we repaired came back and new ones starting appearing along with ghost doors and a front door that no longer closed properly.
Upon contacting Dave he sent out “his foundation expert” Mike S*** who told us we had some settlement but nothing to worry about. After 2 weeks of trying to contact him to alert him the issues were progressing we once again called Dave.
His “expert” came back out and said the same thing while never producing his reports to us backing his claims. From there we spoke with 4 foundation companies and hired a structural engineer who confirmed we have severe foundation issues.
Dave and Eve told us that none of these people were experts and claimed their guy said the house is fine (still no report). Since July we have been trying to get resolution from Dave and Eve. In multiple emails they stated we had no issues, then they finally had a legal document sent stating our issues were caused by our mismanagement of a home we owned for less than 3 months.
Finally they stated they would reimburse us 150% of our purchase price. We reluctantly accepted as we can’t afford to hire an attorney on top of the 30k plus in damages they missed.
Well they only wanted to refund us $600 dollars (our purchase price now) plus we had to sign an NDA that wouldn’t allow us to share our experiences. After we expressed our intention to sign upon the removal of the NDA and correction of the refund amount they withdrew their offer altogether and told us “best of luck”.
