Important information

  • Additional Info:
On February 4, 2019, BBB sent correspondence via U.S. Mail and electronic mail to the University of Denton regarding some concerns in their marketplace practices. Specifically, BBB challenged several advertising claims on the University of Denton's website along with misleading photos implying that classes are offered in a traditional classroom setting and questioned the validity if the courses offered resulted in college credits.

The address used by the University of Denton, 6420 N. Interstate 35, Denton, TX 76201, is a valid address; however, after inquiry and email communication from the Denton TA, Store and Fuel General Manager, they confirmed that this is the location of their truck stop center more commonly known as TA Travel Center.

Furthermore, University of Denton's website ends with .com instead of .edu, as most known university/college websites, and is registered under a private domain. The website was created November of 2013 and was updated on October 2018. The registry expiry date is November 2019.

Finally, the University of Denton claims to be recognized and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of International Colleges and Universities (ACICU). Please note that this is not a valid accrediting agency. Additional research on the US Department of Education (USDE) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) websites did not find or recognize the University of Denton.

As of March 13, 2019, University of Denton has failed to respond to BBB's inquiries.
