      Horrible company. Over charged me for average billing by using my free nights usage the year prior to average my billing this year. I am paying $150/200 over my normal bill every month and when I show them the numbers my usage vs what theyre charging me, their response is sorry thats just average billing. Literally overpaid by $350 before I paid my early exit fee and went elsewhere. Average billing was going to close me $500 more than I actually used in the end. But not sure how they get away for charging what you dont even legally use. Glad to be done with them. Awful.

      Misleading information. Before I moved my due date was on the 12th of the month for that last year. When I transferred service my due changed to the 1st of month and I didnt know it and I services were interrupted. I was told by one representative to pay my bill and Green Mountain could change my due date back to the 12th. So, I called back around the 20th and spoke with a supervisor and they told me no and now Im ******. First of all I didnt ask for my due date to be changed to the first because I have a higher rent amount, car note and several other bills due in the first. My electric **** ***** needs to be due on the 12th because Green Mountain is charging me. $20 disconnection notice fee every time you guys mail out that letter and this needs to stop.

      They refused to accept any form of ID I provided and all were valid. They expected me to have a CHL or Passport and I have neither. They took my deposit and refused service and Ive been trying to get my deposit back for almost a month. They claim they sent a refund on 10/23. Today is 7 business days. Now they are telling me to wait until 11/5 at the latest. Everyone says different things. I was hung up on by 2 managers when asking for help. Worst customer experience by far.

      In April 2023, my husband and I were solicited by a Green Mountain Energy representative in our ******** neighborhood who touted the virtues of the company. Since we are committed whenever possible to reducing our carbon footprint, we listened to your salesman's pitch. Part of that spiel was a representation that Green Mountain Energy's price per KwH (******) was competitive to that of our utility Con ******* Furthermore, in stressing it was a "competitive rate," the salesmen indicated that we needed to take immediate steps to secure that rate for Green Mountain Energy to become the supplier to **********. Acting in good faith, we enrolled into Green Mountain Energy on the spot via a tablet in which we had very limited opportunity to review the terms. It should be noted, as per the ****************************************, energy services companies (*****), such as Green Mountain Energy, are obligated to provide consumers with "a clear description of services"something which the representative manifestly failed to do. This lack of transparency and Green Mountain Energy's price scheme became painfully evident to us recently when we received a shocking bill from Con ****** that has caused us to terminate our relationship with Green Mountain. Con ****** billed us an additional $2986.55 for the period August 2023 to September 2024 based on Green Mountain Energy as the supplier (twice what we would have paid if we had stayed with Con ** as the supplier; its rate hovered around .09 per KwH during that period).This has been an absolutely dreadful experience. Green Mountain/NRG: we have written you directly already, in addition to contacting the NY State Attorney General and the NYC Public Advocate. You need to refund us $2986.55.

      Absolute worst energy company that you could ever choose. This company was recommended by the apartment complex that I recently moved into as I assume they earn commission on this recommendation. I was absolutely shocked when I received my first full month bill to discover that the amount was approximately double from what I was paying at my previous two apartments. This company may justify their rates by disguising their product as renewable energy but it's a joke. When I called to cancel my account because of obvious price gouging I was told that my original quoted KW hourly rate was raised TWICE within the first 40 days and I would be charged a $150 cancellation fee. After I explained that this was absurd and a horrible business practice they simply said that they would not waive the fee even after stating that I would contact the BBB. No wonder Green Mountain Energy is not accredited. I still have other platforms to share my disgust on so this is only the first stop. I would give negative stars if possible and hope that karma riddled bankruptcy is in their very near future. May they have the day they deserve every day!

      My house hold uses solar. We gather enough energy to support the household and have plenty left over. Green Mountain decided to change their plan on how it works. They use to have one for one and then allow you to roll over your extra energy that is put back on the grid. Instead they changed the plan, without informing anyone that they no longer do roll over. The excess energy put back on the grid is just kept by them. Green Mountain then proceeded to charge us 60 bucks a month for the ridiculous service fee and a few miscellaneous taxes. So Green Mountain energy now expects us to pay them monthly and also give them almost double the energy we use for free to the grid. Needless to say I will never use this scummy place again. I recommend anyone with solar to seek out TXU. They seem to have changed their plans to be like Green Mountain was before they changed things. I would also recommend checking out complaints listed on the BBB here on all the issue Green Mountain has had with their billing problems. Does not surprise by the way we were treated.

      I am calling them last 4 months to fix problems they make my account is resident but they put commercial now last 6 months they charge me higher price for commercial I call them always take 45 to 1.30 hours to find to talk to customer service top of that they charging me late payment and disconnect charges around $43 dollars they r the one ask me dont pay till we finalize the problem bad customer service

      Cut off my electric service and no bill was due. I am on Dialysis and have a medical condition that requires me to take 9 to 10 hours of dialysis each day. Green Mountain cut my service on April 24, 2024 did not get it turn back on the April 28, 2024 missed 3 days of dialysis very sick. Talked to Green Mountain spoke several reps found out they had turned it off by mistake I purchased ****** of food from Kroger and all food went bad. Then I had to get a room at Hotel after paying my. Hotel fees were and 2 days of work.

      They charged you a late penalty fee in addition to a ***** final notice letter they are charging you twice for the same thing.. It's the only energy company in my area so they do whatever they want to do to you with out any consequences

      This is the worst energy company I have worked with. I was very disstasified with their service and billing. I thought it would be much cheaper but their prices are too high. I am a disable veteran and they did not give any type of waiver for the deposit and even canceling my service with them. The cancelation fee was $300 and they said, I signed up for a 60 month service????? I didnt think so....but anyway...... Please do trust what they are giving you over the phone, please read the fine print. Please go to someone else who will treat you like a customer. Oh, also there is a long wait time on the phone. The reps are a little rude at times when asking many questions about your bill. Again, go to another company.....ZERO Stars........
