    I do not recommend this company. We moved into a new home in 2020, and have made several service calls to this company. The unit is not the proper size for the home and constantly runs. There is a section of the house that receives no air or heat and one section of the house that overheats. After several service calls, they have not been able to fix the issue. Mostly recently, the unit was over heating and almost caused a fire in our attic. The owner refused to send a team back out to fix the issue. Sorry customer service.

    I would give ZERO stars if allowed. Highlands was the company responsible for the installation of our unit for ******** *****. Over the last 20 months we have had numerous heating and cooling issues, as well as other neighbors who had this same HVAC company for their installations.
    Ourselves and other neighbors have had other hvac companies come out for repairs due to numerous cancelled service calls by Highlands. These companies have also informed us that these units (which are all split units ) are undersized for the size homes we have. Which will result in future issues.
    This was brought up with ******** ***** as well as highlands during the initial inspection phase of buying. Despite what they say it’s clear the calculations they use are not accurate and are done to save costs on their end to get around installing the proper sized unit(s). This works out well for highlands as it will result in more service call revenue in the future, so I see why they did it.
    We were also told that not only was the installation subpar and barely to code, but also certain parts (bypass damper) were installed backwards, which was causing a lot of the issues. This was missed during several service calls, by highlands which is apparently pretty obvious per other companies.
    These issues were brought up to the owner, who refuses to take accountability for the poor craftsmanship and quality of their work. The bypass damper was fixed after jumping through a few hoops to get it done. Had to get another company to fix another issue as highlands could not get the part in less than a month. Still continue to have issues and it’s unclear if the damper was fixed correctly as the same problems keep occurring.
    They now refuse to service the unit and fix their own mistakes. This is sad to see. Please use another reputable company. It’s clear this company wants to take the cheap way out and their lack of customer service shows. The owner is argumentative and not pleasant to deal with.

    Update: After having issues with multiple service calls being canceled for a part to be replaced in a brand new unit in a brand new home, the owner, Cody discovered that the service-person was the one canceling with us. Service man had marked the ticket completed with the company. The owner brought a team to our home on Saturday to install the part, apologize in-person and explain the situation. He was honest and made things right. That is something we really appreciate when doing business we a company!
