The operators at Dan’s damaged my vehicle’s drive axle seal and did not adequately repair it. This is unsafe, unprofessional, and not the right way to treat customers and/or their vehicles.

I would give this place a 0 rating if I could. They are "police friendly" in that they show up immediately if the police call them; racing to beat the tow company that a "victims" insurance or AAA would send.
They towed a student's car to the side of the road on Friday the 14th of July and demanded $150 on the spot in order to move it from there. When she hesitated because she was new to the country and did not have the credit, they demanded she go to an ATM and get cash. Bewildered, as she was at her wit's end, she declined, so they immediately drove away with her car telling her she could claim it at "Rutledge Pike lot". She got her friends to take her there right away, where she was informed it was not at their lot; she should try the city of knoxville impound lot. She went there where the "good folks" at the counter told her to "be patient and give grace to the towing Company with which they had never had any complaints for the last 5 years-(did they not know about the 2 star reviews for Dan's ?? )So she went away as it was late Friday evening by then. She returned on Monday morning because Dan's had "located" the car but she was informed that she owed them $850 now for the "extended stay at their high end facility"! She knew she was being scammed so she tried to call KPD, which had initially called Dan's for her. They yelled at her and told her to clear out, which she did in tears. Fortunately her church mentor went with her the following day and he was told that she had heard wrong-she only owed $280 for the "extended stay". This was because by now the owner of Dan's was involved. They paid the amount but as they were leaving the "courteous " employee who had been "helping" her until then, came outside, away from the owner's earshot and yelled at them, calling them liar's etc. Maybe the owner sent him because he had mentioned to them that "another bad review would not hurt them"!!
