I strongly advise against using McLain's and to use a company like AAA-1 instead. Bad service, every correspondence had the wrong name, they didn't listen, overpriced, and false warranty claims on the quote. We received emergency service with the technician not having enough tools to perform full diagnostics, and charged us additional fees to return despite the return trip being a result of the technician. They stated we would get a quote, but didn't contact us until a week later and stated someone would need to return in order to get a quote. The sales person included "... and other things you wouldn't understand" in his sales pitch to someone who has been in the industry for 17 years. The quote included false warranty information (when compared to the manufacturer's documentation), was $700 more expensive than AAA-1 that quoted the same exact parts (line by line) with the only exception being a more advanced thermostat. McLain's quote claimed the manufacturer provided a certain warranty, which I compared to the product model warranty parts information, and it was less than half the length they claimed. Service call: $150/hr weekend rate, $75 trip charge, additional $100/hr for revisit due to installer not having enough tools (all min 1 hour charge). When reaching out to the office to dispute the $100 added charge, I was transferred to another lady, who immediately said "You need to pay the full amount" before even saying hello or trying to understand what I was reaching out about. She was rude, didn't listen, and then said "Maybe the technician didn't find the issue because it happened after he was out" which, because of my 17 years of industry experience, I informed her was a literal impossibility based on the symptoms of the issue. Long story short, do not go with McLains for anything. AAA-1 was much better, honest, and polite.
