I did not have a good experience with this company. After recent storms, many of my neighbors had hail/wind damage and repairs were done to their homes. T&D did the work for my nextdoor neighbor, so I asked them for their contact information. I, then, contacted T&D owner Tony, requesting a roof inspection for my home with a report that I could give to my insurance company. Their report provided a few pictures and a commercial report about the hail in my area over the past few months, which the insurance company already had access to. T&D’s report included nothing about the any hail/wind damage they may have found to my roof. (Previously, my insurance adjuster had found minimal wind damage with expected repair costs to be much less than my deductible.) Knowing there was some damage, I asked Tony D. if his company would fix the few damaged shingles found by the adjuster. Once he knew my insurance company was not covering the cost of the repair for the small amount of damage, he seemed uninterested in the job, but since they were already involved, he agreed to do the repair work.
Once the work was done, I received an invoice, by email, that included only a grand total of the charges of $1,200.00 noting ”tarping and replacement of missing shingles was done”. I contacted the company numerous times requesting, for my records, an itemized statement with a breakdown for the cost of materials and work done. (NOTE: This involved removal of ONE shingle and only tarping that small area. The shingle was removed to find a matching replacement.) There was no specifics of how many shingles were replaced, material costs, labor charges, date of repair, etc. Based on the insurance adjuster’s report, the work should have been minimal, so I felt my request for the itemized statement was not out of line. I was very disappointed in T&D’s refusal to give me the statement I asked to be given. I did not feel this was good customer service.

I am sorry to hear this customer felt he had a bad experience.
I was asked to inspect the roof, take photos', remove a shingle for him to give his insurance company and tarp it where it was removed. We did all of this. I then talked to him on the phone about our inspection and sent the photos and hail report.
I do not write a report, as this is not my job. I tell the homeowner what info I have, and it is up to them, the owner, whether they want to pursue a claim. A detailed report is the Ins. Adjusters job. It is also the Adjusters call, not mine, as to what damage they will pay for.
I always meet with the owner when their adjuster comes. I was never notified of a time or date. I don't think this customer was even home, as he told my secretary that he has security cameras and never saw the adjuster get a ladder out or get on the roof.
I was then asked to just do what repairs were needed. Wind damage and loose shingles, several of them, not just the one we removed for Insurance at his request.
As for a detailed invoice, I don't do that on repairs either. I have minimums, as do most all roofing companies. I even gave this customer a $250 discount from my minimums. A detailed statement would have to include gas/mileage (to and from the job (3 trips) and one for materials), my workers' pay, materials cost, my insurance costs, and I guess my secretary's time and my time as well.
My secretary did respond to his e-mail requesting a detailed statement (he sent 2) as soon as she was able.
Once again, I am sorry he feels slighted, but we always try to help our customers any way we can.
