This company has failed to keep their customers supplied with power. I have never in my 53 years seen a company of this magnitude have such poor service. On a monthly basis, we have multiple outages, most being quick outages lasting seconds to a couple minutes. I estimate a normal month being 3 to 5 outages. This is may towards the end of the month (25th) and so far we have had 11 this month, with 7 of them being today on the 25th. They can claim weather ,or accidents all they want, but the weather is nice today, and haven't seen or heard of any accidents today in this area. 5 of the seven outages were within an hour or just Over of each other. Keep in mind this is 2024 as well. Also have filed a complaint about it taking out a Playstation of my father's a few months back, and of course they claim they can't see where the outages were on the dates we gave them. Now today I have just lost my 55 inch TV to the 4th outage we had today on the 25th, and plan on filing another complaint after memorial day. I will be there the 28th. I can't afford to keep replacing electronics due to this company not being able to supply power to their customers without the outages we are having. Depending on what they do now about my TV will reflect on what steps I take further. As of now in the last 4 to 5 months, I now have two electronics I'm having to do without because of these outages. I have a very limited income. I expect them to stand good on them replacing my equipment, but if they don't I will go to the local TV stations, and hire an attorney. I have all times and dates wrote down of all these outages.. this is ridiculous.

Volunteer Energy Cooperative is a member-owned electric cooperative. VEC, like all other power companies, must deal with both planned and unplanned power outages. While VEC does everything possible to mitigate these outages, we're not able to guarantee 100% reliability. Unfortunately, this member has seen a number of recent outages. Since January 2024, our system has identified and recorded 13 total outages on the circuit serving his location. The outage that occurred on May 25 was the result of an animal coming into contact with the powerline. Two outages, one on April 19 and another on April 26, were planned outages conducted by TVA. There were weather related outages on January 9 and 27, as well as on April 2. There was also an outage on February 6 that resulted when a vehicle hit a pole. VEC takes reliability and system resiliency very seriously, and we regret that we have not met the expectation of this member. The losses that he submitted to the cooperative were reviewed by our insurer, however the insurance company ultimately denied his claim. If he would like to submit additional requests for reimbursement, those will also be submitted to our insurer. Employees of VEC have been in contact with the member regarding this issue.
