My vehicle was towed here after an accident where there were injuries. I was given an incorrect price twice for charges incurred related to the towing after the accident, and was given a significantly higher price when I arrived to pay (cash only) for their services and to have the vehicle returned to my home to avoid further storage charges.
When told the "actual" price for returning the vehicle, the administrative person in the office was laughing, said they weren't the one whose vehicle was in the tow yard (so obviously not their problem); having zero empathy and complete disregard for the situation being a traumatic and incredibly costly experience with injuries; and to add insult to injury- made fun of my spouse who is Hispanic and had been communicating in perfect English, asking if he needed a translator.
Not only does A-1 Towing business practice predatory opportunism directed towards those who are marginalized and living in poverty, but they are also openly racist and deceptive with pricing and think it's funny.

Customer called in, not in the greatest of moods, which was understandable given the circumstances. to get the tow charges on the 94 Toyota pick up that had been wrecked. She was quoted $439.71 cash only. When they arrived at the office, an insurance company had just called needing charges on a Toyota 4-Runner, mistakenly she was given the quote for the 4-Runner which had 2 days less of storage, after catching the mistake she was told $439.71.2nd tow from here to her home was $125.00 which made the total $564.71. Customer was told that the police call had to be cash, but the 2nd tow could be paid with card or check. She kept growing increasingly agitated. She then was told that the City of Chattanooga is responsible for tow pricing. Earlier that morning a Hispanic man had called who did not speak good English, the person in the office asked the customers husband if he was the one that had called earlier that morning, only because they were asking about a Toyota pick up. Not once was the customer made fun of, nor was he asked if a translator was needed. The person in the office was not laughing but smiling trying to
de-escalate the situation.A1 Towing does not discriminate in any way or fashion.

This company was disorganized and the driver (Taylor) was EXTREMELY RUDE. There was a mix up on their end (the dispatcher Cathy did not give the driver updated information) of where to meet me with the tow, and once he realized it he threatened me by saying that I was still going to have to pay for the tow. I said I was sorry for the mixup but asked that he not be rude to me because it wasn’t my fault, he then hung up on me…then lied to AAA saying that I was “verbally abusive” because I asked him to not be rude to me. This was a complete lie and spiteful and petty. Especially with him knowing that I had been broken down and stranded on the side of the interstate for FOUR HOURS getting the run around from several different towing places. One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had in my whole life and as someone that prides themself I’m giving phenomenal customer service myself, I’m deeply disturbed and appalled. Five thumbs down for sure, if I could’ve given no stars, I definitely would have.
