    Terry Nation came to our home Aug 21, 2024 to give us an estimate on redoing our shower. After examining the shower, he explained in great detail that there was a $250 fee due for the visit. I paid it I attempted to contact him via email addresses on their website to request a contract. None of the email addresses worked. I sent a text on Aug 28, 2024 to email me a contract for signature. I heard absolutely nothing back and have not yet seen the contract. On Oct 15, 2024 while driving to the tile store to pick up shower tile, I received a phone call and made plans for work to begin on our shower on Thursday, Oct 17, 2024. Later in the evening, my hired contractor called and I realized that the earlier phone call was from Terry Nation. As soon as I hung up with my contractor I called Terry Nation. I explained that I thought he was my contractor and I apologized for not realizing who I was speaking to when we spoke. I explained that I had contacted him via text asked for a contract, had gotten no response, and that since I had not ever signed I contract I believed he decided not to take the job. I then told him that I had already hired someone to repair our shower and signed a contract with them. He said, “ that’s okay, we don’t normally take jobs as small as your job.” I apologized again and we said good night. I waited for 4 weeks from Terry Nation’s visit to look for another contractor. After hearing nothing from Terry Nation… 5 weeks after we last spoke about my “small job”, 8 weeks after I asked for a contract, 9 weeks after he came to our home, Terry Nation cashed my $250 deposit check. Do not contact Terry Nation, owner of Nation Builders, unless you: -work without a contract; -don’t care about cost; -can afford $250 deposit; -work with folks who are unreachable… until the day before he wants to schedule work (without a contract to protect yourself); 4) want to work with someone who doesn’t do < 20K projects.
