Approximately a year ago I opened an account for my young daughter at this bank. She had her savings and a debit card for her upcoming college years.Unfortunately there is a professional scam, using the same bank phone number with Carolina Trust on the caller ID. My daughter was scammed out of alot of money. Within 2 days of the discovery it was reported to the bank. Within those 2 days over three thousand dollars was missing, due to debit card purchases and ATM withdrawals that were UNAUTHORIZED!!!. The bank denied our claim and appeal. Your money is not safe there. No fraud alerts or freeze of any kind when theres obviously suspicious activity. I had to travel to two different bank locations to discuss my situation. Each one stated " I will talk to upper management ". We provided screenshots, full statements and a police report. Today, my appeal was denied. I am awaiting the banks reason and a copy of the policies. It appears my money was not insured or protected. This is the most unprofessional (podunk) business I have ever encountered in my life. The Big Red announcements on the website, appears that scams are commonly connected to Carolina Trust. LASTLY, Who provided my daughter's phone number and connection with that bank is what I primarily want to know? If anyone else has experienced this please contact BBB and *** fraud hotline.
