Called Roots this morning. Needed two brake rotors turned. Was quoted $15 per rotor.
I was told to remove the wheel bearings and races.
I get to Roots, and was then told they must have the races installed to go on the machine.
So, another trip back home to get what they told me to remove. I return the races so they can do the job.
I go to pay, and the $30 total bill jumped to $70. The guy at the counter said I was being charged $40 for putting the races back in, after they told me to remove them.
I wouldn't let these guys put air in my tires after this experience.
    Rude mechanics, and basically scammers.
I do not recommend this outfit to anyone.

I went to Roots this morning to have my A/C looked at. I was previously told by another mechanic that the A/C Expansion Valve needed to be replaced. When I arrived at Roots, the owner told me that he doesn't go by what another shop says. He said that he would need to take a look at it himself. They looked at it, and said they could order the part and fix it this afternoon. We arrived back at the shop at 1:00 p.m. and waited 2hrs for our vehicle to be fixed. The mechanic then comes out and tells me that it's not the expansion valve at all, it's actually the compressor and its going to cost another $600 to fix the vehicle. He then informs me that I still have to pay for the expansion valve, even though I didn't actually need it, but that they could discount it half price. After speaking with the owner, he claims that they never actually checked to see if my vehicle needed an expansion valve and that half off was the best he could do. Why should I be expected to pay for work that my vehicle did not need? It's the mechanics job to inspect the vehicle! I would not consider this business reputable in any sense of the word. Stay far away!

Mrs ******* requested us to replace the valve so rather than do a diagnostic on it and charge her 165 dollars just for the diagnostic to be done I replaced the vale for a price of 225. After replacing part there was still an issue which required replacing the compyand when you do this you also replace expansion vale so rather than telling her the actual job would be about 900 I priced it at 600 because we already did the valve. If I had did a diagnostic and repair it would have been 900 dollars. I explained this to her and also told her I would take old valve back off and just charge diagnostic fee She at that time said she would have us do repair but never come back. But like I said I told her I would put old part back on and only charge would be for diagnostic. I thought she was coming back in and thought we were fine with the discount I was giving on repir
